and a few things have been bugging me and i wanted to know if any of you could possibly answer them.

1.) why is there only 1 female infected (the one nevell caught) in the whole move that i saw

2.) At the end Wtf happend, i mean they move then into one room and supposdly nevell dies, but the women and child dosent? i dident understand what kept them alive, i mean i saw the explosion but shouldent the kid and woman have died too?

3.) in the middle of the movie he gets caught by a trap that keeps him in the air until nighttime (when the infected dogs come out) who set the trap?, nevell or the women (ann, i think), and who put fred ther, the infected for bait or somthing?

thanks in advance to anyone who can answer these, maybe i just need to watch the movie again but those are just some things what i just couldent get my mind around..

It's almost like they were going to use the book ending, but then they changed their mind half way through.

But we are going to say that the vampires put fred there and set the trap, like they did in the book.

1. Because men are scarier.

2. The woman and child got into the metal thing and it shielded them.

3. The monsters set the trap the night before and waited for him to see it the next day while they were hiding.

I don't see how the infected set the trap when they portrayed them as idiots in the movie but they managed to fool Neville with one of his own traps?

Wow, you shoul seriously read a book or something.

1) Just because you saw on infected woman on an operating table doesn't mean only one woman was infected. There were obviously other infected women as well as men.

2) Neville put them in a hatch in the wall which could withstand the blas of a grenade. They survived the blast because of the strength of the door and walls and in the morning they got out and drove to New Hampshire.

3) The Alpha Male of the infected set the trap. If you remember when Neville sets his trap, he says that that Alpha Male willingly stepped out into the sunlight. This means that they are getting smarter/evolving. Either way they are changing and they learned from Neville's trap so they could set one fr him. The infected put Fred there to lure Robert to the trap.

It was all quite obvious actually.

The internet movie database has answers to all of your questions. But I will try to answer them.

1. I always assumed there was more women infected, it's just that the guys and girls that are infected look a lot alike since they've lost all of their hair. I couldn't tell the difference until Neville caught her in the trap. I hope that answers your question.

2. The boy and woman are saved by getting into the small chute in the wall. They were behind a wall, so when the grenade went off, it didn't effect them and only killed who was in the room that they just left(Neville and the infected).

3. The infected alpha male set the trap. Neville talks in the movie about how some of the infected are evolving. Saying that they are having feelings that is unlike them, like when the alpha male's female mate is taken by Neville in the trap, the alpha male steps out into the sun for a couple seconds before going back inside. So basically, the alpha male saw how Neville made the trap that caught his mate, so he made one of his for Neville, he could tell Neville have been around the mannquin "Fred" by the smell. Did you noticed how when Neville came home he poured vinegar outside of his home so that it covers up his scent?

I hope that helps.

That's what had me going "HUH?" as well. When I was watching it I was thinking he (nevell) had set that trap himself in hopes of catching an infected like he did at the warehouse and forgot about it. But it kind of made sense when I saw them coming out of the building at dusk and they had the dogs with them ready to go.

I think it pretty much strayed entirely from the book and the only really similar thing is the concept of infected people. But the movie was still good in my opinion.

i thought The Last Man On Earth was an awesome movie

See there is a good adaptation, even though the ending is changed a bit. Not as much as the crapfest that is I am legend. The last man on earth is a much better movie, even though it is slightly dated. Plus it has Vincent Price, and no matter how many movies Will Smith is in, he will never be as awesome as Vincent Price. EVER!

The book is called I am legend, is by Richard Matheson and it was written in the 1950s. It's a brilliant book with one of the saddest and most tragic endings I have ever read.

Dont call me dumb you...dumber:evil: Anyway watch the last man on earth, thats a much better movie. Vincent Price alone makes the movie great, Will Smith is an ok actor that will never have the iconic status of Vincent Price.

Film guy could probably inform me here, but I was under the impression that the title I am legend came from the fact that Neville is considered the boogy man by the infected because he comes while they're asleep and kills them. So Will Smith is actually the bad guy. This version was meant to be closest to the book but failed in this department leaving it rather shallow. There was only really one line of dialogue in the vincent price version that hinted at this.

So this is why I really didn't like it, because it added nothing to the previous versions (including 28 days later) except for very expensive special effects.

I think I like the Omega Man most because of the funkiness of it all.

It's sad that after more than 40 year nobody has made a faithful adaptation of I am legend. Shame, it has such potential to be a great movie. Maybe if they got a good director who knows how to stick to the story and direct well we might eventually get a good adaptation. Omega Man is ok, its gets a bit silly sometimes though.

Thats nice:P Maybe I just have high expectations, but after years of waiting for a good adaptation and then hearing how great this version is I was looking forward to it. But when i saw it and realized it was just a silly hollywood movie with Bad CGi monsters and was barely similar to the book at all. The book is a complex and brilliant novel that actually tries to be deep and does it well, the movie is a cheesy hollywood movie with religious overtones and has the complexity and deepness of a puddle of piss.

For those interested, this is the old I am legend adapatation. The screenplay was done by the actual author and it has the one and only Vincent Price. Check it out, i think its on google video.
