[QUOTE="AngelB1ack"]OMG this OP cant be for real....this is a joke thread right?NicktehImperial

There were people in real life who's last words were heroic whether tehy were shot in the stomach or were in a hospital.

and maybe there were people in wars (the majority) that were killed in a painful way and didn't think of a great quote because they were in extreme pain,

let me shoot you with a machine gun.

Find me a quote from someone that said something heroic when they got shot in the chest and then died.  Go on.

You go to war, thinking you still have a chance of coming back to your home town alive, not dead. When you're shot and realize that you're going to die, you start to panic. You don't think about, "Revenge me and send them to hell!", you think "Oh my god..I'm going to die..." You start freaking out. It's an instinct you have, especially when you do not die automatically. The pain doesn't help either.

Ok, I've seen this movie before and saw it yesterday but I was watching the one scene where the guy was shot in the stomach and bleeding to death and his comrades were trying to stop the bleeding and all and he was like... "Oh god I don't want to die mommoy oh god please I don't wanna die uggghhhh."

So my thing is, if you were dying whether it was in a war or anywhere, why would you act all scared like that and mortify your friends? I wouldn't want to die but if I was dying I wouldn't want to be remebered as a coward, if you knew you were going to die anyway then why would you go out as a coward? Wouldn't you want to say something like "Avenge me mother*******" or "Tell them to go to hell." or something heroic to be remembered by?

Yes I know I'll get flamed with people telling me how serious war is but whether it was war or peace or whatever, if you were dying why go out as a coward?  Oh plus if you don't want to die then don't join the army infantry during the bloodiest war in history, work in a gun factory or do some non combat thing.

What do you think? If you were dying would you be crying like a little girl or would you try to be heroic and make use of your last moments to be remembered?NicktehImperial

In all honesty you need to grow up a bit.

Let go of your macho man tough guy mentality.  Die as a coward?  Gimmie a break......go watch Rambo and have your unrealistic sterotypes reinforced.  What are you, like 13 years old?  Do you have any concept of how emotionally harsh war is?

I would not hold any soldier in judgement, contempt or claim him to be a coward in any sense of the word.  No one knows how they will react in combat, much less when they're lying on death's door.

I don't know why I bothered, this is probably falling on deaf ears anyhow.

Are you kidding me?  The fact that he ran up a beach with machineguns shooting at him really get's rid of any possibility of him being a "coward"... just because he was screaming for his mother doesn't mean that he's a wuss, it means that he was in an extreme amount of pain and realized he was going to die...

I think the fact that he had already practically died for his country and had been shot to death and was bleeding out was enough for heroics. Would you like to die thousands of miles away from one of the central and most important and caring people in your life, knowing you would never see her again and that all the things you had ever done together have gone down the drain because you're going to die?
