[QUOTE="Takashi_7"]Hostel II was probably the worse movie I have ever seen in my life..
I loved the Saw movies though.. The endings for each was such a big twist and they had plots.. They were just brilliant..

Hostel FTLElArab

They are planning on making a 5 and 6, and if those are successful enough, then they are gonna make a 7.

THat's just too much though, they may as well rename it "Rocky".

That's in and of itself a big warning sign that the series is devoid of content.

Aside from series that were originally conceived of as trilogies (or more), when was the last time you've EVER seen a series getpast "part 2" and not go into the realm of suckage?

Really, is there ANY reason for a ****ing Saw 5 other than to see MORE people get tortured? I mean, come on. I'm not gonna try to justify the existence of Hellraiser 7 by saying that I'm really interested in seeing what the future holds for Pinhead.

There are exceptions though. VERY few exceptions. But generally, if you get to part 4, you're doing it as a cash grab, an easy attempt to get money from an established fanbase. And that's it.

Turns out that Saw fans just happen to like watching people getting murdered in elaborate torture devices.

[QUOTE="Led_poison"]Eli Roth needs to learn the difference between Gore and Horror. -Silent--Death-

Hey, The Cabin was freaking amazing, scary and gorey - one of my favourite horror movies, havent seen it in AGES tho.

Do you mean Cabin Fever?

That movie sucked.

There were only two scenes that I enjoyed. Well, 3, if you count the nudie scenes as one scene. Anyway, the other two scenes were pretty good. One of those scenes was the only scene that approached being scary, and the other scene was the only scene that approached being (intentionally) funny.

"Scary" scene: dude falling into the water.

"Funny" scene: The joke at the end of the movie dealing with the black people.

[QUOTE="aschuhart"]the FIRST saw was good. all others were awful. hostel, hills have eyes, etc are a new line of movies that claim to be "horror" movies but are nothing more that just gore fests with awful storylines and actors. Gore and special effects, in some movies, does NOT equal horror. Atmosphere creates the best horror. Thechaninator

agreed, the first saw had a great plot, great atmosphere for fear, the constant wondering of "why is this happening", psychologically thrilling, and just the right amount of gore to remain tasteful.

All these new movies are pointless.

I disagree. The new movies have surprised me each and every time. I keep thinking that the next movie is gonna be the one to ruin the series and then they turn out to actually be good.

People need to give the series credit. Horror series are known for being crap after the first movie. The Saw series has managed to keep it up without forcing some random BS continuation explaination down our throat.

that's exactly what the Saw movies did. Each one added on some random BS continued explaination of how/why everything was going on. Instead of just leaving it at one simple explaination of: dying cancer paitent wants to teach those who take life for granted a lesson, it became WARNING SPOILERS!!!!!: dying cancer paitent with mental killer side kick chick, with the help of a detective get revenge on those who take life for granted because dying cancer man's baby was accidently "killed" by miscarriage by a drug addict. Saw was already explained. The rest of the movies did nothing but cash in on Saw's success by constantly modifying the explaination in order to create a new script.

Both of those movies were absolute garbage. I can't believe I even considered seeing the second one. It was terrible.

it was pointless compared to the first, the first one atleast had some direction and the mysterious thing going for it, this one just felt like an excuse to kill some people, and the ending was one of the worst ive seen

If you really want to watch a series that is somewhat gruesome but has an interesting story, watch the Cube trilogy, IN ORDER.

Cube -> Cube 2: Hypercube -> Cube Zero

Yeah, it has a rather cheesy but not entirely terrible plot, and the ending to the trilogy is pretty cool.

And really, it's not as blatantly gory as...say, the Saw movies. At least I don't think it is.

Yeah, Hostel 2 was a joke. It was as bad as The Cabin. I swear Eli Roth is a jokester and you have to watch his movies while you're intoxicated or something.
