Long story short, my brother and his fiancée created a list on Target.com and BedBath&Beyond for the things they are looking for and wish for people to purchase for the wedding. On the target.com list, one of em listed that they want a Nintendo Wii. Obviously, one of em wants it but would it make a good gift for a wedding or should i just stick to the typically stuff?

As long as you buy the guy a 360, sure. I kid. It'd be a good wedding gift.

If it's on the list then go for it. Whether or not it's a typical wedding gift, they want one.

Risky...I don't think they'll open your gift for weeks.

Depends on the couple. If she seems like a girl who'd play a bit of Mario Kart and stuff then go for it, otherwise stay away.

if it's on the list then go for it, especially because no one else would likely get it for them. I think it's an awesome gift from a brother, but maybe it would be a good idea to wait a bit and check the registries to make sure they get all of the stuff they will really need, cause if there is something like that left on the list, then maybe it would be better to get that...

If there was nothing "needed" (pots/pans etc) left to buy, then go for it.

Haha, I love the responses. It's not like this is the 1950s and they have remained chaste until their wedding night. Sure they might be getting it on more, but that doesn't mean that's ALL they'll be doing between now and 2010.

I recently got married and my wife and I play the Wii all the time. We evenasked for EB Games gift cards as part of our registry. Chances are they won't play with it until they get back from their honeymoon... but once they get back into the routine of life, the Wii will be a wonderful gift.

Be careful though... is one or the other overweight? Because giving 'em WiiFit could be insulting/embarrassing if opened in front of a room full of friends and family. Might wanna stick with Wii Sports Resort and Mario Kart Wii.

Yeah, you should get the Wii Fit package so that they can stay in shape, meaning that their sex life will take slightly longer to degenerate into annual single evenings of disappointingly short and unsatisfying intercourse, meaning their marriage might last a bit longer.

As bitter as a 15-year-old with very little experience with women can sound. :P

it would be funny if everything is house appliances and bathroom stuff while I present a Wii. OR, hardly anything is to be presented while my Wii is alone. Idk, I think too much :(

That could work... but the TC has to buy or tell them to buy another controller AND a Wii Motion Plus if both of them want to play together.

I'd buy the wii. True, not the most practical gift, but it isn't one that doesn't worth much either. It's better than a singing fish someone surely will buy for your brother....

They probably won't even use some of this stuff much, I know I didn't use my wii wheel much. I would go with either the WiiFit bundle or get them Wii Sports Resort.
