Get off your moral high horses people. It's perfectly fine to not want to help out the poor, considering it's pretty much like tossing your money down a well.

They aren't going to do anything with my money but buy drugs and guns to kill eachother with. I'll keep my money, thank you very much.

Those drive by shootings you hear about, random muggings, it's all the poor doing that. What good do they do for our country? Push the homeless underground, clean up the ghettos and fill them with quality homes for people who actually make money. If the homeless try to do something, jail them.

It's not that hard, and this will make America a cleaner, happier, more family friendly place.

shyskillz

do you know that most of those drive buy shootings, muggings, robberies are because of having no money. c'mon, why else will they be doing this. every man wants to take care of themselves and their families, itz unfortunate that some have to resort to criminal tactics just so they can eat. the prisons are filled with minorities who committed crimes, most of these crimes were to obtain money.

I don't care what reasons they have for breaking the law. I just think of the quickest and most efficient solution, that's to lock them all up.

please, you hardly hear any wealthy ppl complaning.

i know i'm going to get taxed but itz no biggie for me. i'll still be paid and i don't mind helping out my fellow country men. itz greed and selfishness that made the economy the way it is today.....or did we forget that already. or maybe theres other reasons for not voting......hmmm.

It is human nature to be greedy. Everything in this world is motivated by greed at some level. Think about...really think about it. People are going to be greedy, you can't fight human nature.

greed is sin and it has proven to always carry bad luck. a line has to be drawn somewhere, if not then you will get what you have today. you can still become wealthy with dedication and focus but you will go nowhere if the system is broken. giving a little back to help repair whats broken will actually make me feel like a better person. i'm positive many feel the same way, this is a great country and you can not enjoy life when everyone else around you is suffering. what type of person will that make me if i did?

We are becoming a country that never takes responsibility for what happens to them. I didn't create this crisis we are in...so why should I have to put extra money into it.

I understand what you are saying about helping your fellow man, but all i want is for us to be able to do that ourselves. Not coerced by the government. Let me write the check to the charity of my choice.

The government already wrote your check to big business in the form of a $700 billion dollar bail out, that both McCain and Obama voted for. Furthermore places like AIG collapsed due to greed driven stratagies.

Exactly my point. The only way for people to learn is for them to fail. That bailout shouldn't have been written. Let me help out the newly homeless family down the street who is actually responsible with their money but still lost everything. I don't want to help the people who took loans out that were too good to be true and didn't put a single cent down on their house. They deserve to learn a valuable lesson. I should be able to dictate who I help.

Ok this is a gross oversimplification.. Many of these people were flat out lied to on interest rates. Where they were perfectly fine with their supposed fixed interest rates, then it turned out that it wasn't fixed and it sky rocketed.. Seriously your point is based on pure ignorance at best.

If the country does down the tubes, and the citizens stand idly by and do nothing, then maybe the country should collapse. It's not a pretty thought, I admit, but maybe that is what we deserve if we think we need the government to tell us who to help and who to hurt.

i agree with this somewhat but i'm sure every person that used loans do not fall into this category. yes, tougher penalties are needed.

The government is there for the common good.. People arn't, more and more do we see this with people crying with "taxes being unfair".. We are extremely selfish society based on materialist interests, while holding the dillusions that all a person needs to be successful is to work hard.

Can we please ignore the guy who's saying that we should catch all the poor people, grind them up and turn them into dog food?

Really, as the saying goes, "don't feed the trolls".

It's not gonna happen, he knows it's not gonna happen, he knows that everyone else finds what he's saying to be morally repugnant. He'd might as well be a KKK member who's saying that we should arrest blacks, just to get a rise out of you guys.

Just ignore him. Don't take the bait.

Being fortante in being born into a situation that is for your benefit.. You think Bush would have made it to president as a C student if he were born in a poor family? People some how think that all it takes is hard work to be very sucessful, I believe these people to be absolutely ignorant to history and to not know what they are talking about.. Working hard is just one thing of many pieces that took many people to be successful, it does not garentee you to be successful.. ANd I think its absolutely nieve to suggest thats all it takes.. When we have middle and poor class struggling who work extremely hard to make ends meat.

Ooooh.

To TC: It's my money, I don't care if they're starving.

It's one thing to not what to share your wealth but to not care at all is something else. O.o

If anyone asked me, I'd say that I care. But when it comes time to actually do something about it, my money is staying with me, not going to some ghetto to fuel a 20 year old woman's drug addiction.

Wow LittleHands134, your one ignorant cynical weirdo.

some people just dont have the money to share. trust me i just get by but if i was completely full blown wealthy and didnt have any worry for money i would be the most generous person you'd ever heard of. more so than bill gates, oprah and all those hacks.

better learning environments for the poorer class will do wonders. men and women get caught up in crime because of crappy school systems ( overcrowded, inadequate teaching curriculum's ) and home nurturing is crappy too due to the father being locked up because of criming for dollars or killed in the streets fighting for dollars, which leaves the single mother with 2 to 3 jobs working for crumbs while the child is out learning how to survive the hard way......i guess you just have to be a part of it atleast once in your life to understand that it is real and sad. and when others don't care then they don't care because itz not like they are playing on an even field. instincts kick in when you are starving and struggling to survive....

...and just how much money does it take for one (including ones immediate family) to live comfortably? Furthermore, just how many of you are so selfish as to cast off your fellow human being because greed, superficial power, and money means more to you than humanity itself?smegburt

Well, if you don't like money then I'm afraid you are out of luck. It's kind of like oxygen...or food. If there wasn't currency, then there would be some other "thing" to hold value...

Define comfortably. I know people in parts of Africa who have a very different concept of "comfortable" than Europeans, Americans..

Finally, I'm not sure how many Americans value money more than human life, but my guess is it's roughly the same proportion of the population of virtually every other society in human history. I guess I just don't think "greed" is unique to contemporary America.

Maybe if you would come out of hiding and name the Utopia that you live in than I would be able to give you a better reply.
