What happened was my friend (a girl) and I was suppose to goto the city and have dinner. It'd pretty much be our first date, we talked for about a month. I'm from new york city Queens by the way. I was looking forward to taking her out and having a good time. Her excuse for canceling according to her was that it was going to rain heavily around 9pm in which it didn't. The forecast said it was like a 60% chance of rain. I was excited ever since we planned to hang out, like for about a week. I ended up just staying home today miserable on my bed. Has something like this ever happened to you?

Kinda but her parents were to blame for it. Both and I were not too happy about it

No, because I'm more or less a stud, but that sounds terrible.

she said like she didn't want me to get hurt, like i'd get into an accident or whatever in the rain. That might have been a lie, maybe it was something else like the rain would ruin her hair or whatever. Just sucks when someone makes a plan with you and cancels

Well, she sticked with the maths and the probability of rain ruining your first date... it's not her fault the forecast was not accurate. At least that's what I would want to believe...

Yea it sucks. Sorry to hear about it, but using rain as an excuse when it's not even raining means she's looking for a reason not to go. Sucks to hear I know, but I'm fairly sure she just didn't want to hang out. Maybe it's not you, maybe she had a bad day or something and didn't feel like being honest, who knows. Try to reschedule, if she does it again it's a sure sign she's not interested.

Maybe she had another more embarrassing reason or she doesn't want to date you. Your choice.

Yeah man, using the weather forecast as an excuse is really weak. Women are usually pretty hesitant about dates and such, though, so you should try again.

I've been cancelled on many a time, usually when I'm there already. I just get lunch, buy a CD or game and leave.

i wanted to go see MUSE with one of my friends who's also a big MUSE fan, but she can't go anymore...now i have to go with my bro and cousin who aren't as big as muse fans....concerts are usually fun when someone who's as big of fan as you are is going with you

Here's the thing, StriptheSoul has the right idea and basically said what I was going to say except mine was advice and his is the appropriate action he took in a real situation. I'm telling you that she got cold feet, and it's doesn't necessarily have to be she doesn't like you, she could have an anxiety problem of some sort but what it comes down to is she doesn't want to go on the date. You need to lower your reliance on the date and think "if it happens it happens" that way you don't spend the rest of the night self-loathing and spend it improving how you feel and doing the things you love.

Yeah, try to ask her out again. She might have just gotten cold feet, or had some embarassing reason she couldn't go. It's okay to give her the benefit of the doubt once, but if she gives you any trouble about the second date, I'd say forget about her - ideally, by sleeping with her friends.

The second chance should be a standard for any situation, if you get the same response twice then you can be sure to leave the situation or participate in it depending on the reaction. Social Law #134

Things like that just happen, sometimes even after I've bought the movie tickets. :P It could be a bad sign, or there could be a legit reason that she couldn't make it. I'd just ask her if you'd like to meet up next week (or in a few days) instead, and see what she has to say about that.

I have had people cancel at the last minute, but it's no biggie. I always keep a book in the car and carry my iPhone. If it happens at the last minute I either see what my other mates are doing or just drive into a quiet street I know about a minute from my place and either read, listen to music or surf the net on my iPhone for a few hours. It's really relaxing.

Ouch. I guess you should take this moment to curse the sky and rain for it's unfortunate timing. Although this is clearly her telling you off. Out of curiosity sake yous should go check the weather forecast and see what the chance of rain is

Indeed. Sometimes, women are just bats*** crazy. Nothing you can do about it.

I once had a girl cancel on me while I was sitting in this expensive restaurant waiting for her. She claimed that all the trains and whatnot from where she lived were cancelled. That was a lie. I found out later, when I asked her out again and pressed her on it, that her real reason was one of her friends had not returned the shoes she was planning to wear, and so "her outfit was ruined", and she had some sort of freakout over it. I kid you not.

The moral of the story is just chill, ask her out again, and if she comes up with some other excuse then she's just not that into you. In which case she's not worth the hassle.

i can't recall having a similar scenario happen to me, no. I can recall wanting to cancel dates though, even if the only means to do so would be to take use of bad excuses. I think i cancelled on a date or two at some point, but i honestly cannot remember the circumstances surrounding it.
