reanimate Andrew Jackson.

He'd challenge our nation's debt to a gentlemen's duel.

My history teacher said it was 7 trillion.rockguy92

I'm not positive, but I think the TC's numbers comes from some national average of household debt or something.

I heard someone talking about this today, and they said the debt was about three billion. And I was thinking, I'm pretty sure it's in the trillions. But I didn't say anything.

There's a whole multitude of different statistics the media love to throw out there. You have your trade deficit, national debt, budget deficit, etc. They were probably talking about the trade or budget deficit.

All they said was national debt, but yeah they probably meant something more specific. I was halfway in the conversation, mostly not paying attention.

make marijuana legal, and start making INS sweeps. the people who are illegal, get locked up, work the marijuana/hemp farms and get paid minimum wage. When they have made enough money to pay for a plane ticket, send them back.

- If you were to have this amount in dollars and convert it to pennies, the stack of pennies would span the distance between the Earth and Jupiter. I will post the math if you would like. - Everyone in the United States is $30,235.72 in debt. - Most of the debt is comprised of health services, such as medicare. - The Congress is currently looking at passing legislation that will grant $300 to individuals with incomes under $75,000, so that we will spend it, in hopes that we will stimulate the economy. (Where are we borrowing the money from to get this? -- China. -- What will the general public buy with this money? -- iPhones? ;) ) What do you think we should do in order to help bring ourselves and our nation out of debt?CptJSparrow

This statement is completely false. Iphones? pffft. Shiny new ps3 for me my friend once that check is my mailbox. Thanks china, you made and you've enabled me to buy it. Now if you only made games.....

Lets blame the debt from G. Bush. All that precious money that can be going for charity, health care, children's hospital, food and water for the poor and education, goes DIRECTLY to WAR! Its stupid. Airsoul

[QUOTE="LukeAF24"]Cut spending maybe? Good thing the Dems want to attach more fat onto the current refund plan, adding more spending to the budget. Yipee!LukeAF24

Not like the Republicans were doing any better. Trillion dollar war anyone?

Since I'm just full of idioms today; Two wrongs don't make a right.

Also, that's not an idiom, it's a cliche, as is mine.

wow, we are soo in trouble. how the heck are we going to pay this money back? the answer is we wont, so many other countries owe us millions of dollars. but they will never pay us. so thats y no other country is pressuring the US to pay off their debt.

I would prefer to have Alexander Hamilton.

The "total public debt outstanding" That is a little old; a re-search of the site demonstrates that I am not sure where exactly this number came from. I will have the link on Monday.
