[QUOTE="comp_atkins"]all i see if apple trying to cram another device on us with an internet connection. i already have a phone and a laptop. why do i need a mix of both that does neither well?spazzx625Well, ideally the screen technology could be used to make an actual Macbook Pro tablet. THAT is something I would buy.
My thoughts exactly. I would like a tablet though but the ones you use for drawing.
[QUOTE="expanded"]I'm gonna wait till the more compact mini version of the iPad comes out.. I believe they'll call it the iTampon...which hopefully will come out later in the next yearDJ_LaeDoes it come with built in 3G support to tweet your flow to the world? Of course it does you fold the wings out to get a premo signal.

It has definite possibilities that makes it quite attractive for me. While some netbooks have more power and can probably do more they're still quite bulky when compared to the iPad. With iPhones pretty much the standard mobile computing (not the best mind you but just the most widely used) people won't have to learn how to use the iPad. They'll probably know right away how to operate it.
For gaming purposes it's still not a replacement for full-sized mobile gaming pc's but it's getting there. I like the possibilities it opens up for e-readers and, especially, for digital distribution of comic books.
The one thing that I don't like about it is the amount of memory to store files and apps. 64GB is not much for something like the iPad which will end up not just a portable photo storage, but video and music. I also don't like the fact that it is not flash-enabled. That pretty much viewing flash-enabled websites useless. The fact that Marvel Comics uses flash as a way to distribute and rad their e-comics already makes competitors for the iPad get an upper leg in digital distribution. If the biggest comic book company is lukewarm to this iPad announcement then that's one revenue source Apple will lose out on.
I may or may not get this on March 1st. As some have already mentioned it might be best to wait for the 2nd-generation, but by then something better and shinier may have already come out. I think if Apple makes this thing flash-capable by way of an update early in its 1st-gen lifetime it will fly off the shelves more than it already will.
