[QUOTE="-Pred-Alien-"][QUOTE="Danm_999"] Can Israel hold out forever? It's already outnumbered, and in the next few decades it will become increasingly so given its relatively low birth rate compared to Muslim families. It's already jumping at Iran's shadows, how long until it meets a challenge it can't complete?Danm_999
The stats say that the the Arab population of Israel (not including Palestinian Territories) is roughly 20% yet when you check the stats of the all the major cities (other than Jerusalem) thats hardly the case.Israel is not outnumbered within its own borders, but those borders are largely a creation of a 1948 population transfer, followed up by rigorous attempts to keep Palestinian Arabs out. There are about 7 million people in Israel, Arab citizens are about 20%, leaving roughly 5.6 million Jewish Israelis.
Most natives to Palestine were driven out in 1948. The Gaza Strip has about 1.4 million people is one of the most heavily populated regions on Earth (it's about twice the size of DC), the West Bank around 2.3 million. There are also significant populations of Palestinians in Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon.
Israel has to contend with these massive populations in neighbouring regions, not to mention nations like Iran and Saudi Arabia, which consider the conflict a religious duty.
I know there are significant Palestinian populations, but again, the major city's stats hardly show that 20% of Israeli's are actually Arab. But yes, as some have stated, there have always been Jews in region and before the partition, they were roughly 10% of the population. And the funny thing is there were no issues.
