And how do you feel about it
I'm ambidextrous but I prefer more to write with my left hand, while I prefer to pitch with the right one as well as bat with that. Also I can use either control type in Guitar Hero

I generally use my right hand to write so i guess that would be the dominant one...when i write with my left hand it looks even worse then my normal writing :P..
I am very predominantly right handed. I hardly do anything with my left, apart from when I need both, like typing.
I write with my right hand and use if for various other things, but if its a two handed job such as golfing or swinging a bat I'm a lefty.
also who thought this thread was going to be about something else.
I guess I'm ambidextrous cause I write with my left hand but I golf and bat right handed. :|

Nope, ambidextrous means you can perform any activity comfortably right or left handed, I think.
I'm ambidextrous. I can write with both hands, but I choose to write with my left. It's the neatest. I can also write with my left foot.ayanami_reiHow does that work out for you?

I am ambidextrous. However, I have never tried writing with my feet. =P
Regarding writing specifically, I just do whichever is more convenient for me. Writing is more natural and graceful when you are pulling the pencil rather than pushing it; so for a left to right language, i use my right and for a right to left language, I use my left.

I'm ambidextrous and I seem to waffle back and forth as to which one I lean towards for certain tasks.

Of course I'd have one turd of a paper but whatever.lonewolf604
I admit, I am surprised at the poll results - assuming they are real. I'm not trying to say that people are being disingenuous, but that is a lot of ambidextrous people! Ambidexterity implies that you are equal or nearly equal at almost any task, and that ability is exceedingly rare.
More commonly, there are people who exhibit cross-dominance, where they excel at certain tasks with one hand and other tasks with the other hand. An example of this would be Rafael Nadal, who is right-handed for nearly every task, but is also the best left-handed tennis player in professional tennis.

Most people don't understand the difference. I know a guy who thinks he's ambidextrous because he writes with his left but throws with his right but really he isn't; ambidexterity would imply that he could do both tasks with both hands equally well. As for myself, I'm left-handed but I have learned to use a few tools and utensils right-handed when the design made them too awkward to use otherwise.I admit, I am surprised at the poll results - assuming they are real.
