If you were ontop of a highrise building where all the lower floors were ablaze beyond the capabilities of the firefighters to extinguish, and the distance to neighbouring buildings were too great to jump, what would you do?

- There is too much smoke and heat for a helicopter to hover the building, but you do have a cellphone, with enough credit to make one, very short call.

Will you call someone whom you believe can help you escape this situation? (Batman is not a real person, btw)

Or will you call a loved one, your mother or your boyfriend for example, so you can have a chance to express what they mean to you?

Or will you opt for an entirely third option? Test out your flying capabilities?

Regardless of what you decide to do, tell me in vivid detail, 'cos i hunger for your salty tears OT.

Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters. No no, not for the reasons you'd think...Now, Zuul is located in a gargoyle/dog thing on top of this building and as a result I have been possessed and encased in said gargoyle/dog thing. Venkman and I have been sorta seeing each other for awhile, but it's just now kind of getting serious...I am hoping that before Zuul starts looking inside people's thoughts I can preemptively stop any giant marshmallow men of the Stay-Puft variety from showing up. That doesn't bother me as much as Rick Moranis, though...That guy is annoying.

Screw calling. That'd waste the battery. I'd just kick back, listen to music and wait. Either they will put the fire in time and I'm saved, or I'm dead anyways. No need to get panicky.

I want eulogies! Or people expressing how they are already toying with suicidism, so this scenario means nothing! Tears D: Or actual solutions to the problem at hand. No, you are not a terminator, and despite mods walking on water on the ethernet, this is a realistic scenario, thus negating your extreme fairytales D:

stay at the top

building like that dont collapse due to typical fires (no jet fuel here, folks...or conspiracy. Just furniture and carpet to burn), the structure will remain behind.

To be realistic...i'd probably tell my parents that i loved them..i don't think i'd cry to be honest...maybe i'd be nervous...but if i was going to die for sure..after calling my parents i'd probably curse the guy that set the building on fire..

I'd probably look like this...

Then like this...

True is this may be, i'm talking all the lower floors being completely engulfed in flames (as depicted by image) No staircase design to my knowledge (i dabble in the arts of creating structurally sound staircases in my sparetime) can keep that amount of heat out, despite being infrastructually seperated to the rest of the building. Well I'll probably call my wife and give her a tearful good bye. But being the smart person that she is, she would probably ask me what building I'm at, then proceed to find a blueprint of the building since she's computer-suave. Then tell me to go to the nearest water tank located within the building while instructing me to take a hose or tube of some kind or oxygen tank for breathing purpose for when I submerge myself into the tank... before doing so, she'll ask me what I would like for dinner.

Yeah, that's probably how it will go down. Not amusing at all

you see when you go into the emergency staircase, you'll notice that its like a closed compartment, meaning the fire won't travel because there's really no air to fuel it...or fuel at all. Most materials used for fire protection can withstand very high level temperatures...very! Also most buildings have basements, so you don't really have to go through the lobby when you can escape through the basement :P

Somehow I knew this topic was coming.... I would sit a top the building enjoying what thoughts I could muster...one last think for old times sake, then jump -the given scenario prohibits any form of rescue -nothing really to say to anyone...those that matter know how I feel -might as well go out doing what I love to do...hell, may even sort some **** out seeing the finality of it all before my eyes -who knows, it might even be a short think session...leaving time enough for one last game of Civilization Revolution on the phone ;) I always did wonder what it would be like to just fall

luckily I always wear my tights for such an occasion.....after quietly slipping out of the crowd and to a utility closet I'd quickly change... ......I'd quickly put the fire out and slip back into the building before anyone noticed I was missing....

Well.... I think inevitably I would end up jumping, its much better than burning/suffocating. I would probably try to find a way out at first or try to be with people close to me. In the end it would definately be a jump, I would want to end on my own terms, at least as much as possible :) and with the very miniscule chance I am lucky like nathan petrelli, I might even fly and survive :)

I'll text KBG for the answer! Then I'll text my friendly hood Spiderman, and tell him to come save me.

If those dont' work, luckly I carry a jetpack wherever I go, so I'll fly myself out of there.

BiancaDK

Me? In this situation, i would call my brother, tell him i wubs him and that everything will be alright with time, and then just stay on the roof until the heat and smoke becomes unbearable, and then i'd jump. Pretty straightforward approach, actually!

Pretty much this.

Although, who would I call? My sister seems like the likely choice, though I don't know how much attention she pays to her phone.

My mum? Probably be sleeping or avoiding answering the phone.

There's only one other person I'd call - you know who - and I'd probably tell her that I don't hate her (even though I do, but I wouldn't want to die with her thinking that), then I'd ask her to do something with her life and to be happy. I'm not sure that I'd tell her I love her or not. Firstly, she should already know that, and the fact I'm calling her near-death should say that, but I'd just let her know something cheesy like I'll always be looking over you or something like that so she won't ever have to feel alone.

Edit: When I say "pretty much this" what I mean is that I'd spend the last few minutes of my life on the roof just thinking voer things, hopefulyl there'd be a surreal calm to it and and not unruely chaos there to disturb me. Once the heat and flames got too much then it would be time to jump. There's no way I'd want to meet that fate even if it meant prolonging my life. Lastly, I've never wanted to grow old to the point where I'm unable to make my own decisions so I'd rather make the last decision myself and jump. As rawsavon said I'd just like to know what it'd be like to fall. Hopefully the moment would be so surreal that it would feel like an eternity and not 5 seconds (so I could do some major soul-searching before I hit the ground), but we can't all get what we want when we jump off a highrise.

I would call my mother and tell her that I love her and how much I appreciate everything she's done for me. I would then proceed to think about the fact that I have done nothing in my meager life, accept the fact that it is over and fling myself off the roof.

i'd jump off the building and hope for a deus ex machina, preferably a dump truck filled to the brim with feathers.
