So I was taking a walk late at night and some guy comes up and ask if I want some drugs. I say no. Then he asks if he can have a cigarette and I give him a cigarette. Then he asks me if he can punch me. I tell him no. He continues to beg me to punch me. So I decide it's time to leave. Then when I start walking he shoves me. So I shove him back. Then he tells me to leave and I'll tell him: sure I'll leave. When I start leaving he kicks me in the leg. He did as hard as he could but I didn't feel anything. I said: I'm leaving what's your problem? Then he kicks me as hard as he could in the stomach. Again I didn't feel anything and at that point he kinda gave up and I continued my walk.

This was a very weird experience for me. I've never been even close to a fight before so I didn't want to continue, risking a punch to the head, falling to the ground or something. He also had a friend with him who seemed completely indifferent, but if I would've started fighting back alot maybe he would've joined in. I have no idea how I should've have reacted. What do you think? How would you have handled the situation? Why didn't I feel any pain? I am pretty baffled.

Throwing punches/kicks isn't as easy as pushing your foot/fist it into something. You gotta connect right and then there's the all-important snap. Just pushing your appendages into someone isn't going to hurt all that much.

Personally, I would have taken it as an invitation to legally lay a motherfucker out. But I'm a dick anyway, though you already knew that.

I think you did the right thing...I would have punched him...As for you not feeling pain maybe the guy was just really weak or adrenaline kicked in, or don't you normally feel pain?

You probably didn't feel pain because of adrenaline. I've been in situations like the before, even at work. More than I would like. No matter how many times it's happened it's the same response for me. Heart pumping harder and faster, vision gets better, warm and tingly all over. If it were me I would have kicked his ass. He sounded like he was on drugs though so you did the right thing by leaving.

I would have hit back and kept attacking with everything I had, walking away and turning you back on someone like that is potentially as dangerous as defending yourself.

I remember back in school, I caught someones fist in my left hand as he tried to punch me in the face for what I recall was no reason. That ended it right there and he walked away as if it scared him. I think it was as much of a surprise to me too. I can't even always catch a ball like that so I think it was kind of a fluke, one of those times where I just happened to be in the moment where everything synced.

Yeah I wouldn't have started a fight either. What if the guy had a pocket knife and out of the black he would have stabbed you? No matter how physically strong you are a knife is no joke. So unless I'm carrying a knife myself or some other means of protection, I almost always just walk away. But when I'm sure the guy is just a wuse then it's not so bad to give him a proper beating.

And drug addicts are like super weak so I'm not surprised.

That was weird indeed. Personally, I definitely would have fought back, which may not be the wise thing to do. Generally speaking, I'm a calm guy with a moderate temper, but if I'm rattled enough I flip into super saiyan mode.

If I were you, I'd kill both on spot. Possibly would of died myself. I have anger management problems. I don't get angry usually, no matter how much you may piss me off. But when you do some of those 'things' that make me angry, I'd **** some shit up.

where did it happen? i believe you did the right thing. fighting back is never an option in such occasions. who knows what kind of stupid things they were capable of doing? in fact, you should've run as soon as he asked whether he could punch you.

See, this is the attitude I want the person fighting me to have. Enraged people don't fight well because they aren't thinking, which is why if a fight seems forthcoming I go out of my way to piss that person off. And then some more. And then some more. And then say something about their mother.

A real fight is over in seconds. Throw your hand up in front of their enraged eyes and then punch them with the other. As they recoil you can get your last licks in. If it turns into a back-and-forth then you've not done well at all.

The Other day when I was walking some one asked me if I wanted any drugs. I said no and all he said was no worries. Nothing happened like yours but thought it was strange. I nearly said do I look like a druggy. Think he was a under cover police to be honest.

Then you're not in luck. Even when I'm angry, I hardly lose my reason. 90% of the time, I just solve it through words, angrily. When it does come down to fighting, no one in my whole school is daring enough to fight me.

I would have hit him back, but then again I don't usually consider my way of handling these situations (rare though they may be) as the correct way when I reflect on them after the fact. Logically I think the guy who said you should have ran is correct. God knows the guy could have had a gun or a knife that he was waiting to pull the moment you did anything to him because crazy people just don't make a lot of sense.

Glad you're okay though.

@korvus: No, not like that. I mean bring the palm of you hand up right up to their face, right in their eyes. Someone pulled that on me in middle school and I adopted the technique, lol.

Do the boys not spar after-hours just for fun? Growing up that was a thing, but that was the 80's as well.

If someone reaches out for you grab his wrist with one hand and smash his elbow inwards with the other. They normally don't want to fight afterwards =)

Wrist holds are weak, though. All a person has to do is twist their wrist so their thumb points away from your palm and jerk.

We're not talking about martial arts here my friend, we're talking street fighting. When you grab a wrist you don't grab around the wrist, you dig your fingers and nails between their radius and their ulna. You try to jerk that out you're going to **** yourself up =P Besides it shouldn't even take a second to bust his elbow, it's not so much of a hold but more of a stabilisation for the break.

Wait are you suggesting this as a response to the scenario I posted earlier? Because if so, then by grabbing the wrist you're doing pretty much what the attacker expects...flinch and grab. Don't forget the reason the hand was thrown in front of you eyes...it's a feint. There's another hand coming.

@br0kenrabbit: Then it's about whoever is quicker, your punch or my snap...if you go first I get punched in the face and worst case scenario I get knocked out...in your worst case scenario your elbow will be useless for the rest of your life. You have to move your arms separately, I have to react and can do both arms in one move. I'd take my chances but luckily for us we will never have to find out XD

I know people who, when they walk into a room, organ music starts playing, lighting hits a tree just outside the window, TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEK.

Drama.

I certainly have character themes in my head for certain people in my life. lol.

I don't know if I should feel humbled or humiliated. :p

But yeah it's a mess. The kind of mess you don't want to clean up because you know exactly where everything is, but a mess.

Lol you dont want to catch a fist in a real right.

I'd rather catch a fist with my mouth than with my hand.

So I was taking a walk late at night and some guy comes up and ask if I want some drugs.

I've worked out what really happened ...

You accepted his offer, whereupon he gave you Phencyclidine ("PCP"), which is infamous for rendering its users oblivious to pain and injury.

As Wikipedia puts it: "PCP may induce feelings of strength, power, and invulnerability as well as a numbing effect on the mind."

That explains why you felt no pain when he kicked you. Then the numbing effect on your mind caused you to forget that you'd accepted the drugs.

(Just kidding.) :-P
