Someone explain this...

I was driving home from Auburn, Alabama, when I came across this.

This was one a road next to the highway about 10 miles north of Birminham. I can't think of any reason why they would have to be this specific in a speed limit.

So, no, i don't know how to explain that.

Well, maybe 25 mph stopped up traffic, but 30mph seemed too fast, so they bumped it up 2 mph so people could run the speed limit +5, and not surpass 30mph too bad, therefore keeping traffic flow safely around 30 mph, instead of 30-35 mph??

It's more athoritative. I'd go 29 in a 25 but if I saw this sign I'd be careful not to exceed 27 mph.alphamale1989

Were you in a private community/development? This gated community I was in had a limit of 14MPH for whatever odd reason, looked very similar to state speed signs.
