[QUOTE="LZ71"]I've never understand alot of the hate GS gets. I've never had one bad experience buying a game there, most of the time they're friendly and nice people, who know alot about games. Maybe it's just the ones I go to.LZ71

You should've known by now, GameStop they sold you new games, BUT the thing is they weren't new they were used..... you thought you paid $60 for a new game didn't you? wrong.

What? :? If you're trying to say that they've sold me a used game, then you'd be correct. It's so hard to find a new copy of Beyond Good and Evil.

Dont be sarcastic, dude.... I meant when you buy their brand new games lots of time they sold you used instead.... but do whatever you want with your money. for all I care.

Your point? I only buy used anyways. What's the difference between used or new games? They all run the same.

Only the last new game is out of the box. Because people steal they leave an empty box.

The only problem I ever had at Gamestop was when they tried to sell an open copy of Okami to me as new. I declined to buy it. Problem solved.

Not when you paid $60 for a new one, like lots of people do, and get used instead..... when you buying used games then you would pay for the used prices, then it's okay..... that's my point.

I'm just asking what's the difference if you get the brand new copy of the game in the new box, or the used game in the new box? They all run the same, you get all the same things. And if the used copy doesn't work, you bring it back and say I want a new copy of the game.

Right, thankyou. ...that's why I buy games at BestBuy or WalMart now. always get the wrapped ones.

I've never been pushed towards preordering a game from Gamestop/EBgames before.

Yeah one time time this guy told me i couldn't run Crysis Warhead on my laptop... and i told him... "Well The original Crysis plays fine on my laptop."

Most of the time you have a-holes that think they know everything. But I know some cool guys that work at a couple gamestops and i talk to them... But for the most part i just don't go there.

xxxAdvocatexxx

Same thing happened when I bought Fallout 3.

"Are you sure your computer can run this? It's a pretty high end game to run."

"Well it runs Crysis Warhead on Enthusiast just fine."

"Oh... okay then. Thats good then."

I stopped shopping there when I found out those opened "new" copies of games aren't opened because they're display copies but because they allow the employees to take the games home and play them.

Obviously text doesnt explain it since you cant hear it. It was just the smug way he said it, its not the first time. At least when they add about how I can return it if it doesnt run its alright, that's their job, but when they're a bit arrogant about it... just a tad annoying. Maybe something to do with being somewhat undermined.

Oh, that makes sense. I was just asking because around here, they don't let you return opened PC games, so I appreciate it whenever an employee lets you know if your rig can run it or not.

And when all they have is the opened copies (or so they claim)?

Still decline to buy and check out Best Buy.

And when all they have is opened copies (or so they claim)? And that's beyond the point. They sell copies of things marked as new and at full price when they've been opened and used. They don't bother to tell you about it having been used, either. I have no idea how they even get away with it from a legal standpoint.

Why did he delete that?:? Yeah then don't buy it there but the problem with Best Buy is they have a much more limited selection. Then too, I sometimes buy used games if I see one I missed the first time around and Best Buy doesn't have those.

And that's just a waste of time. It would be much easier for me to just go to Best Buy in the first place, which is one of the reasons I don't shop at Gamestop.

I've never had any of these problems at a gamestop. I must get really lucky, out of all the gamestops I've been too in Florida and Georgia, I have not once had any of the clerks push pre-orders or anything on me.

I added to my post. If the game is older then I just shop through Amazon. They have older games for just about the same price if not lower and it's new. And real new, not Gamestop's definition of it.

I do feel bad for those guys. It makes me want to pre-order, but I know that something will happen and I may not be able to pick it up that day and then I'll have spent five dollars for nothing.

If I'm buying a game in a store, it's at a Best Buy. They usually have a game on day one, unlike Gamestop which only seems to get enough to cover their preorders.

I... just go to Future Shop. Buy the game I want... leave.

Every so often, the nice guy tells me I'm buying an awesome game.

Once, when i tried to buy FEAR and the cashier wouldn't let me because I'm 14, an awesome guy who worked there said, "Here, give me the money, I'll buy it for you."

That sealed my loyalty.

The people in my local Gamestops are really nice people. They are always helpfull and nice and make you feel good when you leave. They were never pushy or annoying. I don't know, maybe it's just this city or something. Or was EB Games, I alwas get confused.

I did have one occasion with preodering, but it wasn't really annoying:

me"So does The Simpson's Game look any good"

GS"I tried the demo out and it was fun"

me"Are there any other good games coming in the near future?"

GS"Lego Star Wars 2 is coming out, you can preorder it"

me"No thanks"

GS"That's cool man"

That was about it, no issues.

I don't think it's "pressure". They just ramble on and on ..... and on and on ....... Dude, I just want THIS game: Product, money, receipt. GOOD BYE.

It's not the employees' fault. I'm sure the managers are pushing for pre-order performances.
