Before I start I start I will say that I am an Egyptian Christian living in Canada so I probably have some bias but here we go.
A few days, on Orthodox Christmas Eve, a group of muslims had a mass shooting at a church killing 9 people and injuring several others. This has caused lots of controversy in Egypt because the law isn't taking any actions against the shooters because they are Islamic. There was this woman ranting on this Arabic news channel just now and this is what she said, loosely translation:
"What the United States needs to understand is that in Islam we do not value the human life. When we kill our own people to murder you, you shouldn't fight back. We are doing what we think is right. It angers me when they cannot understand this."
I'm honestly shocked that there are people who have this mentality that killing each other is a good thing. What do you guys think about what this woman said?

It's not surprising. Not at all.
We can talk all we want about certain religious extremists not valuing life (whether it's a suicide bomber, or certain christian sects who'd rather see their children die than give them a blood transfusion). But you see this attitude all over the place. Just a general hatred of anyone who is different, and a desire to see them suffer.
Hell, I'm sure you've all probably seen people swerve in the road. Not in order to AVOID an animal in the road, but in order to KILL an animal in the road. It's just like that scene from The Toxic Avenger, except substituting your family dog in place of a crippled and mentally retarded boy. People do that because pain and death gives them more pleasure than mercy and kindness. And they take it out on whoever they can take it out on.
This is no more than another example of how people don't value life, and often like to be complete jerks. Yeah, it sucks, but it's not exactly a new thing. This attitude persists in varying degrees of awfulness, all over the world. And this attitude has existed for about as long as humans have walked the Earth.
This is no different than hearing a KKK member saying that blacks don't deserve to breathe the same air as whites. Some things just don't change.
