If you can access it, there is a news conference on CNN right now. The way it is playing out so far is this was a genuine terror attack, not good at all - a car bomb using two synchronized clocks. Car was parked and left to detonate. While they are still examining and determining the situation, the suggestion has already come out (it was even a scrawl at the bottom of the screen) that it was meant to target the Viacom building.Did they find anything suspicious at the scene?

So basically some terrorists tried to blow up a car bomb outside the South Park HQ just because of a joke?BonsaiMetIt isn't know for certain yet, but it has been suggested that the target was the Viacom building which is right nearby.

Crazy. You can't say anything these days without angering someone.

I just added this to my post, but the police commissioner was just asked and he said "we certainly would not rule it out." Knowing how careful he is in early stage investigations based on having seen a lot of these in my day, this was a pretty surprising answer and sounds a lot to me like "yes."
I dont understand what happened? a bomb car? did it blow or not?GazaAliIt was noticed by a member of the public who alerted the police that the car was parked in the same place for quite some time, the police saw the bomb equipment and called the bomb squad.
They are insanely lucky that it didn't go off, it would of caused so much chaos.
Incredible, thanks for posting. Ive read up on it, but I didnt know it was quite this weird. Freaking extremist bombers.

The guy who found it said when he looked at the ignition there were about 20 other keys on the keyring. It then started making a popping noise and smoke started to pour out of the car so everyone got out of there.

I've been wearing mine since I heard about the news. :( I think I've been visiting conspiracy websites too much. xD

It's even weirder - some t-shirt vendors noticed the car was "smoking!" I don't even know what that means, but it's been reported several times.[QUOTE="MushroomWig"][QUOTE="GazaAli"]I dont understand what happened? a bomb car? did it blow or not?BonsaiMetIt was noticed by a member of the public who alerted the police that the car was parked in the same place for quite some time, the police saw the bomb equipment and called the bomb squad. I guess after 9/11 they're obviously more suspicious and it's obviously paid off.
That sounds awful. I wouldn't live there.[QUOTE="_Sketch_"]
It really isn't a good place to live right now, and you can just forget leaving your home late night in brooklyn.I need to be with like 5 people if I want to feel safe going outside at night.

Don't get me wrong, manhattan is cool and all and its a very nice place, but there are some areas that are just down right dangerous.
I blame it on the schools >.>
Aaah, religion. It just complicates things.
Seriously though, that South Park episode was pretty funny...
Lucky that bomb didn't go off, though. That would've been baaad.
But South Park, knowing them, is probably gonna strike back.
LOL, I've actually thought of making a sign that says "I support South Park and Free Speech" and standing as near to the Viacom building as is allowed. Somebody needs to do it, even though I am so sick of New York being the convenient target for loonies.Aaah, religion. It just complicates things.

That would be funny. Especially if it attracted a crowd. Come to think of it, I might do it... if I lived in NY.
Wait so were they actual terrosits from alkaeda? i thought it was home made from a new yorker or somethingSolid_TangoSome groups have already claimed responsibility, but police are saying they have no proof that any of them was responsible. It has been pointed out that the bomb is quite similar in design that was used to bomb an airport in Glasgow but no one really knows anything for sure, except the bomb was clearly intended to result in as many casualties as possible. I'm adding some info about what was found in the car to my original post.
It is worrysome, troll. Not a troll, there is a bomb found every other day atm here In Belfast.. and yet it still doesnt cause a fuss like this.[QUOTE="RiseAgainst12"]
Lol you Americans getting all worked up over 1 silly car bomb that didnt even go off Hemmaroids
Mate, the day you have two towers collapse and 2,605 people die in one day, you can get back to me and boast on how above it all and worldly you are. We all know we Americans were late to the car bomb and target of terrorists on our own soil party, but really... what is your point? I played a gig in Belfast with the political punk rock band MDC and got an earful and eyeful of what things were like (including our English driver being warned he could not drive down certain routes with his UK plates and the venue we played at having been a place where IRA weapons were stored in the past.) I know car bombs are a regular occurrence in other parts of the world but I think you can leave NY out of your condescension.Lol you Americans getting all worked up over 1 silly car bomb that didnt even go off
Also how many attacks has there even been on NYC?

If you react with fear like that then you're saying the terrorists have accomplished their objective.

A car bomb, placed in a busy city area with the intention of killing people? Every other day? Nonsense.[QUOTE="RiseAgainst12"]

precisely, stop getting so worked up about it. It didnt go off, and you get them few and inbetween.. that is hardly a reason to be scared to live in a city.[QUOTE="SgtKevali"][QUOTE="albatrossdrums"] Mate, the day you have two towers collapse and 2,605 people die in one day, you can get back to me and boast on how above it all and worldly you are.
