Female has power over men unlike any other. At cell level, it was one egg vs. million sperms. Now, the sperm-egg combo has all grown up and become part of Gamespot community, but still behave the same way, as one female attracts all the attention.
I for one have always wnated to get attention from females, therefore I do pay extra attention for female users with pretty avatars, whiel fully realize that many of them could be male in real life. But this is not real life, this is Gamespot. And on Gamespot, there are lots of girls with pretty avatars, which means they are Gamespot-pretty.
Perhaps this is why for centuries many societies and religions want to dominate female; they want to reverse the natural dynamics of male-female interaction. You see the news recently about that newly-busted Latter Day Saints cult? The feds rescused nearly 200 girls who were raised there to be wives of old perverts in the cult. That's pretty much like a girl farm. A bunch of crazies started a religion that believs that they can raise girls like cattles and enjoy them as young as possible.
So, yeah, my point is, I do feel kind of good when someone who claims to be female give me some attention. This is almost like watching a game preview, and when I read through the list of features and the screenshots, I would be like, "wow, really? Dynamic AI? Runs fast on mid-range system?" Of course, once you buy the game, which is like see the person in real life, you are usually disappointed. That's why I always just read previews most of the time, but never actually buy any games.
