Okay guys, I'm watching Episode III: ROTS and what in the world is Samuel L. Jackson doing with a purple saber? Did he own to you guys or not? For one thing...I wish he learned some real martial arts so he could really use that saber superiorly...what did you think?
Heres the story:  Remember the Jedi vs. Droid battle near the end of EP. 2? Sam asked George Lucas to make his saber purple so that he can identify himself amongst the giant crowd of people. Lucas complied and also paid homage to his Pulp Fiction character by inscribing BMF on his lightsaber.

What the hell is wrong with the Purple Lightsaber? Quite frankly the damn pathetic trilogy needed a CHANGE and some VARIETY, thank God for Jackson requesting a Purple Colored Lightsaber.........the Best Lightsaber, IMO.
I don't see the big deal. It's quite obvious Lucas was running out of Light Saber imagination, and in comes Jackson to put some "flavor" into the dying trilogy. Yes, the new trilogy sucked.
According to the Expanded Star Wars Universe, the Jedi's had different types of colorful lightsabers. From what my cousin has told me. There are: Onyx (black), Chrystal White, Pink, Orange, Sea Blue (a bluish green), Bronze, Brown, Yellow, Purple, and your traditional Blue and Green. Of course the Siths always have RED.

I don't go by the the expanded universe. If it's not in the movies, it's not canon. I still enjoy some of the EU comics from Darkhorse.
