Stereotypes...

I'm black, so I'm suppose to sag, lisen to rap and cuss alot.

It was funny back in the fourth grade. Now its just annoying as hell.

Yep, that's all true. I wish I could show this video to all of the people who criticise hip-hop music because of what they see on MTV, the radio, etc., because it's the rappers that are destroying hip-hop, and the MCs that are keeping it alive.

Anyway i haven't been stereotyped before (not in any serious way). However I'ma little worried about what the guys on xbox live would think if they heard my British accent. I know I shouldn't care what people think of me but I'd feel a little awkward and it would really spoil the atmosphere if I did get some nasty comments. I pretty much just use my headset for talking with friends now.

That's not really a bad stereotype though. If he asked if you were an immigrant or something like that, I could understand it, but asking what language you speak shouldn't really offend you.

Oh yeah, ever had people go out of their way to avoid walking right next you? Happend to me several times, in grocery stores, parking lots, arcades, movie theaters, you name it. I also notice how I get a friendly shadow everytime I walk in a Best Buy. And cuz I'm a big black dude, I'm prone to people with aNapoleon complex who think they gotta boot up to me. Sometimes it works to my advatage at work. Like when we gotta throw out this old drunk guy who keeps shambling in every Sunday asking everyone(men and women) for a kiss anda hug. All I gotta do is walk up to him and say "You gotta leave" and he shambles right on out. Ialso notice how virtually every new person I meet asks me if I play football. But, that doesn't bother me.

In high school they calledme the Russiannazi because I am tall & broad andhave germanic ancestry. People know because it'sheavy ancestryand my last name is a name that is recognized as a germanic name. It's not exclusive to deutsche but most common amongst the deutsche. Plus the spelling &pronunciation is an instant giveaway to anyone whom is familiar with the deutsche languages, dialects.

Appearantly it's assumed all russians are powerhouses because the media sterotypes them that way. The russian guy is always some tall broad guy with nothing to do other than lift weights. I don't know how this trend started, the only thing I can assume is that one of the original russian charactershappened to be a powerhouse because they chose to portray him that way. It had nothing to do with being russian.

It doesn't bother me though, because not all germans were nazis and I'm not a german anyway. I was born in America. I don't have the luxery of saying I'm a whatever slash American, because my family has been around. Since I'm a nativecitizen my national & ethnical ancestry is irrelevant.
