i didnt want to go to my prom BUT i had to or my parents would take away my rush tickets (they said it was good for my social life that i go :roll: ) so i sat there for like 30 minutes listening to crappy miley cyrus after stupid "i kissed a girl song "over and over ,and then got sick and made a request to the dj that they play "tom sauer" by rush and he said no , so i said how bout van halen no again , all right how about the doors , no ,iron maiden ??no again AND HE SAYS QUOTE" kid..get out of the 80's already ....WTF ?!? is'nt he supposed to make us happy with the music on our last day of school for crying out loud ???? any way ....

do you think he had the right to turn me down ??

At my homecoming they played "Kids in America". Everyone just stopped and stared at the DJ. Then someone started a mosh pit to it and soon the entire gym was a one mosh pit. Very funny but we still wanted to kill the DJ.

I didn't go to my prom and I don't regret it either. The money I would have spent on prom I instead put towards my college bill and since College > HS I feel I made the best choice.

But back to your situation. He should have at least played one song, you know. Prom night is about the students, not the DJ.

Ok the reason they dont play that kinda stuff is because its prom and people want to dance. you cant dance to that stuff. thats why they have only techno remixes of songs and slow songsFUBAR24

Tom Sawyer would be a terrible song at a dance. It's cool for them to play at a concert... but in a club or a dance, that is a terrible song to dance to. I can understand the DJ for not playing it. ya but see kids dont want to grind and juke to that stuff they wanna grind and juke to remixes of Hannah Montana or OneRepublic. it was the same thing at my senior banquet (i didnt go to prom cause i got dumped the month before and couldnt find anyone else to go with) i wanted them to play Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy cause i figured thats a fun song to dance to considering half of the senior class girls are sluts but they said no cause they didnt have a techno version of it. and i know for a fact they made a techno remix of it they just didnt bring it to banquet
