I don't drink soda. However, I do work at Starbucks where I drink many smoothies, lattes, and frappachinos. Just yesterday I had about 4 shots of espresso. :shock:mindstormcaffeine addiction, stop and you shall receive headaches! haha, thats just as bad as energy drinks :P
There you go;)This is a message to all... STOP consuming sugar... it is far too unhealthy... learn to not consume sugar....

Ehhh everything in moderation. Its more rational to ask someone to cut down the amount of whatever they do first rather than to just flat out stop.
[QUOTE="kidsmelly"][QUOTE="chaoscougar1"]energy drinks have gotten me, have like 1-2 a day, i think thats how i will die, energy drink OD (it can happen!)chaoscougar1
Haha I seriously think there is something in energy drinks that get you addicted to it. I go on a few days without it and start fiening for it like a druggie for some drugs. I've actually been clean off energy drink for 2 weeks I hope to cut completely. Now if only I can cut out alcohol.
i have to agree, i kind of crave them, i actually think it is an addiction :PYou DO get addicted to it. Caffeine chemically alters your brain when you take it regularly and when you stop you go into actual withdrawals.
I actually had like a week-long withdrawal when I cut caffeine last summer. Went from drinking like 4 energy drinks during an 8 hour shift at work to NO CAFFEINE and it was hellish. It was like I was bi-polar for a week....
Also, caffeine alone can induce anxiety disorders and/or make existing anxiety disorders MUCH worse. Cutting caffeine is actually the first thing psychiatrists tell you when you are diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. I now personally that my anxiety issues have pretty much dissapeared since I cut caffeine.

strange you should mention anxiety cause i can get quite anxious, but on the other hand a girl that i work with has like 5 cups of coffee and day and is insanely relaxed, not what you would call anxious by any stretch of the imagination. But she does get headaches if she stops drinking coffee (caffeine withdrawls)I do at least some physical activity pretty much every day, and as a result it just feels counter-intuitive for me to drink soda. Maybe once a week or so though I will bust out a can, preferably something caffeine free like Sprite.
With this and other changes to my diet I have felt much more healthy, happy, and energetic in only about a month, so I surely am not going to go back now. :)

But she does get headaches if she stops drinking coffee (caffeine withdrawls)I guess that it doesn't have the anxiety effect on everyone, but there is also the possibility that she could have energy issues and her body has turned to caffeine just to keep her going. Also, if you don't keep your caffeine level steady you DO crash and become lethargic.
Anyone drinking caffeine regularly and experiencing anxiety issues needs to stop though. It sucks at first but once you get over the withdrawal it is wonderful.
But yeah, just read this section on wiki talking about caffeine overuse. There are some serious side effects that come with using caffeine the way I did. I also experience the stomach issues they mention.
Whether it was caused by my caffeine intake I had all my life or just made things worse, I don't know, but I can tell you that I have a hiatal hernia in my stomach and my doctor immediately told me to cut caffeine. Didn't listen for the longest time and still kept getting sick and throwing up from time to time. I could actually feel caffeine upset my stomach whenever I drank it (alot also has to do with the acidity of pop I think). I was on medication for my stomach and still having to take pepcid quite often.
Since my lifes t y l e changes I began last year (I not only cut caffeine and most all my pop intake, but I started changing up my diet in general) my stomach issues have completely dissapated.

*Hi-5*
It took you a month? I started feeling better after my week of withdrawals.
Either way, yeah never going back now (especially with the existence of caffeine free pepsi!)!
learn a little bit of moderation. If you dont have enough discipline to do that, start drinking diet soda.

damn, well if i ever get those problems i will know exactly what to do and save myself the exorbitant GP fee :P but also that girl at work doesnt really eat, i mean she will have cereal and yoghurt for dinner and that maybe it :? i am seriously trying to get her to eat more, insulting her shrinking cup size is not doing it :P[QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"][QUOTE="chaoscougar1"] strange you should mention anxiety cause i can get quite anxious, but on the other hand a girl that i work with has like 5 cups of coffee and day and is insanely relaxed, not what you would call anxious by any stretch of the imagination. As for the girl, that is sooo bad then. If she really isn't eating but downing a bunch of acidic drinks her stomach must look like WW3....

so your saying she has no stomach? :PPretty much:P
Sounds like something is seriously wrong with her though. If she is eating very little and not being effected at all by that amount of coffee she could be ill and not know it.
You DO also develope a tolerance to caffeine which she probably has a really high tolerance by now....
I personally don't understand why there is a crusade to stop people from smoking, while on the other hand products like soda, fast food, and cheeseburgers are some of the most popular foods. Why isn't there a crusade to stop people from eating bad as well?mohfrontlineBecause people can eat and drink whatever the hell they want...O_O

Hey man, all that caffeine will probably make you more energetic for your sermons. :P
O_OI stopped drinking soda a year ago. It is bad for your health, and has no benefit whatsoever. After not having it for a year, its not even appealing anymore when it comes to taste.
Nills
Yeah, it does....it tastes great.:P
