all the " metal kids " i know.. dont even know real metal.. they listen to children of bodom, dragonforce ( l on them) , amon amarth.. and othergarbage (WTF?!??!?!?).. but if you ask them if they like metallica , theyll say " they suck" cuz theyve only heard black and heard st anger was bad, and have no clue what kill em all and ride the lightning is.. they dont know maiden, think priest is bad cuz they have only heard youve got another thing coming, and dont know what electric eye and painkiller album are, never heard of megadeth.. and slaeor hurts their little brains.nimatoad2000

I listen to Metal, but hey dude, I'm just myself. I do wear some metal T-s I guess, but I don't really look very metal.. But I know what you mean, it's not that they are straightedge, scene, or metal, it's that they are a waste for being a waste of a human being. It's humans in general. I think at least. Sometimes I think I am a waste too.

As long as you don't take yourself seriously you're OK with me. I don't like people that get too into their image cause they don't seem like people at that point.

im a mealhead myself.. but i dont dress or act like one.. why? because the few metal ppl ive seen have long gross looking greasy hair, crappy band shirts and those old demin jackets i live very close to SF, the birthplace of Thrash of all places.. and i know maybee 3 people that like metal... at my highschool if you told ppl you liked metal.. you might as well have told someone you play wow ... what im saying is being public about both made you an outcast.... NO ONE would say they liked metal.. and no one said they played wow..nimatoad2000

Find your local metal scene man. I was the same, but once i found people like me(sounds weird) you will be accpeted, everyone will dress the same and you will have friend to back you up on anything. Do you play an instrument? Go to local gigs, start a band, play and track all those gigs. If there are iconic rock stores on your are talk with people there etc...

i.e: there is a VERY famous shop called "La Chopo" in most citys on Mexico (mainly on downtown) there are gigs every weekedn and most of the owners are metalheads in their 30's or early 40's, play, chat meet people =P

Straightedge are fine, I don't like scene kids... but I can't stand the typical "metal" kid. Most of them boast some sort of "anti-society" attitude and think they're so far from mainstream when the whole "metal" look is actually becoming mainstream.

You know, those girls that are suddenly into indie/pop/rock/electro (a la The Main/youmeatsix/) they think they are oh so original because they listen to stuff that is not normally on the radio. They dress this indie stuff and go t gigs to see the ULTRA HAWT SINGER.

They drive me mad.

You are saved then. There are the alot of "alternative" girls here. With emoish hair and lots of bright colors (but they are not scene) They are always talking about how cute the bands singer is etc... I bought an Alternative Press about a month ago (along with alot more) and i was reading it when these 2 girls come and ask me for it because they were going to Tucson and The Maine was going to be there. So they offered me $4. I gave it to them and left.

It was weird because they talk super fast and kind of pretend they are from the US. They also use last.fm, filled with the same kind of bands.
