STUDY: Internet Explorer Users have lower IQ's compared with other browsers

A Study has found that Internet Explorer users on average, have lower IQ's than that of other browsers, this trend continuted with the earlier IE browsers: The earlier the browser model, the lower IQ of the person using it.

I think its fascinating, and It's possibly because Microsoft used to force Internet Explorer on Window's Users, so the people that are most resistant to change stick with IE.

On a side note, What browser do you use and what's your opinion of this?

I use Google Chrome because I like its simple layout, but occasionally I use Opera.

HAHAHA, then a study says that people who use apple related products have higher IQ. this is bogus.

I use firefox 3.0.0 with some add-on to make it look like FF 2.0, why? because some features on the new one suck.

Correlation =/= Causation. Pointless studies are pointless

I'm going to start using IE just to spite that study.

I recently switched to Google Chrome after hearing it was faster than Firefox. How pleasantly surprised I was when this turned out to be true, in my case at least.

Makes sense, smarter people are gonna go with the obviously better alternatives.

I used Google Chrome from the very start, then I used Firefox when Chrome had this problem with the flash player crashing nearly every time, but now it's all good, I love Chrome, it's fast and simple.

I'm switching back to Opera at home, at least for videos because Firefox keeps crashing, freezing, and generally being a buggy mess latey. Losing faith in the fox. At work I use Firefox a lot because of the plugins (also Chrome, Opera, IE 6, 7, 8, and 9, and Safari).

Someone actually bothered with a survey on that. smh. Let people do what they want. A lot of people use IE because they are comfortable with it. Others (usually older people) use it since it's default. These browser wars are almost as bad as system wars.Overlord93

I can understand why... Look on any youtube video that has ads and you have a bunch of people whining(even though its free).

I have not seen an ad for a LONG TIME and Firefox has been good for me

Let me guess it was a study comissoned by one of IE rivals.

Obviously using IE won't lower your IQ but I can see a few reasons why there would be a correlation between less tech savvy people using IE.

For me I mainly use Safari although I use Chrome more and more. I can't make the complete switch over because I have some bookmarks, passwords, autofill, and settings that would be a pain to have to redo again, so I just use both.

Actually, I just like the interface, and it's fast. This study is silly :P

i believe it. to my knowledge, IE is the default browser when you first buy a computer, and i guess a lot of people don't know that there are better ones out there.

i use Chrome.

My guess is that the results were a little skewed. While a lot of people who use IE probably never bothered to check out other browsers, I'm willing to bet that some of the people who took the study were actually MS haters who scored lower on purpose. After all, Microsoft is very hated.

In case anybody is wondering, I typed this on Chrome, my wife uses IE (so we can keep separate cookies), and I occasionally use Firefox since the history is shared between my computer and my phone Firefox browser.

I mainly use Chrome, sometimes Firefox or Opera when I have problems.

I use Chrome and IE. IE has years worth of stuff saved on it for easy access. Chrome is used because it's fast.

Anyways I stick to Chrome now, but I think Firefox is better. It got a little buggy with my laptop and made me re download flash twice, so now I use Chrome (though I wish I could continue using Firefox, personally).

I honestly believe it because most people that use IE think it's actually a good browser and don't even think of trying another one. Even when i'm at school I usually end up downloading chrome or firefox :P

And I don't like to use chrome anymore because Facebook became very glitchy (To the point of almost unusable) on it recently. Anyone else get this problem?

That's rather amusing, but IE has gotten better over the years, but I still prefer my firefox.

i cant use internet explorer i got ubuntu and that doesnt let you use internet explorer. im using firefox. the firefox on ubuntu is so much better than the firefox on windows.

I use to use firefox then i used chrome then safari and now I use IE. IE is defiently the best in my opinion and my IQ is certainly not low. Average at minimum probably.

Chrome, never had any issues unlike Firefox which is broken as hell.
