What a surprise Batman is winning the poll. But seriously people think batman can beat Iron Man?? You got to be kidding me You all say how smart batman is and talk about how he will just use one of his gadgets to stop Iron Man's suite. You all act like Tony Stark is a moron or something. Do you think he would actually fight batman without thinking of away to beat him, he's not just going to let Batman stop him with some gadget. Batman maybe the smartest in the Dc universe but Tony Stark is one of the smartest (If not the smartest) in the Marvel universe he also has money like batman to back him up.

Actually Batman is universally hailed as the smartest in the DC universe with his only competition being Lex Luthor.

In the Marvel Universe, Tony is smart but is not the smartest as he has to compete with Dr. Reed Richards, Prof. X, Dr. Doom, Hank Pym, and even Bruce Banner (the Hulk) -- who are all considered to be smarter than he is.

When Iron Man fought the Hulk -- he lost ....... when Batman fought Superman -- Batman won.

Ironman is a superhero I don't consider a superhero without super powers, although it is true that he is human most of his abilities derive from his suit and thus to me is considered a superhero with superpowers almost kind like Thor whose abilities come from his weapons.

Yes, but Batman does not rely entirely on his suit/belt, in fact, Batman usually wins fights with mostly just intellect and martial arts even without his equipment. You can't say the same for Tony, whose abilities and effectiveness all come from his armoured suit, heck, even his A.I in his suit analyzes the situation and does the thinking for him!

Yes, but Batman does not rely entirely on his suit/belt, in fact, Batman usually wins fights with mostly just intellect and martial arts even without his equipment. You can't say the same for Tony, whose abilities and effectiveness all come from his armoured suit, heck, even his A.I in his suit analyzes the situation and does the thinking for him!

Technically not even him, apparently he can control the suit through thought alone or even use A.I to face it, Tony isn't nowhere human when he wears a Iron suit that gives him superpowers that no other person can replicate.

Well thats why he should not be allowed on the list because "something" gives him super powers despite him being normal. Also Iron Man and Capt. America should not be on there for the same reason.

Frank Castle doesn't have anything extraordinary, he just has gunnary. I don't think a character is required to have super powers to be a super hero, they just have to be a superior hero.

I think Characters like Punisher, Batman and similar were created for those who prefer a realistic character, not some guy or gal with freak powers.

Lol no it doesn't but I will justify it by saying perhaps the bats was attacking his weaknesses (boxing the ears lol) -- but bottom line is Batman still won. I believe only person on this list who has defeated Batman was Captain America (the one with the super serum -- not Bucky)

Batman, and captain america has super abilities. Another "super-hero" i like, equal to batman is Vash The Stampede. I guess its argueable that he has super powers, but he doesnt do anything that any of the human characters in the show cant do. He purposely lowers his regenerative ability, so while he does heal faster than most humans, its not instantaneous like his brother Knives. And as for his ARM, it doesnt count because the only times he ever uses it, its actually working against him, rather than for him. Plus, he is an awesome character :D

Well. I would totally accept that if it wasn't for the fact that the Hulk has received quite a few beatings from Thor and other characters in the same league of strenght, while surviving with no problems. Thor FFS!!! He has like, the strenght of a gazillion humans! And Hulk survived that! How can a weakling like Batman (sorry Batman, I still love you) beat him with a few well placed, but human-strenght shots? The Hulk shouldn't even feel it! I'm sure Batman could beat him (traps, special-built weapon, etc), but not on a fair fight.

Batman has the tools and gadgets equal to or better than Iron Man's ... not to mention -- Batman is considered (IS) the best detective and one of the greatest minds of the comic book (not just DC as I am taking into account crossovers) universe. Batman > Iron Man.

I'm sorry, but does Batman have a metal suite that can fly, act as a flamethrower, and so on? I thought not...

True, but on this specific issue where he defeats the Hulk that is what happens. He defeats him in a one-on-one fight. Pretty ridiculous. I do think that Batman can beat any character using his cunningness, and beating Hulk using less brutal tactics would be far more believable.
