DC's way of competing with The Avengers 2, I suppose. Wonder who will play the Bat.

I thought you meant a Superman movie and a Batman movie, and I thought 'cool.' Then I realized it was a movie with both of them in... and I thought 'lame.'

We all knew it was going to happen, and now it's happening. I can't say I'm all that excited.

Breaking news: some blog says something may be confirmed later today!

Would be funny if it's not confirmed and all these sites picking up the story end up looking stupid.

Snyder and Goyer, huh? Not sure about this. Man of Steel really didnt do enough to establish Superman and Clark as a character, and now they ll also have to redo Batman? Hard script to write, and Im not sure Goyer is up to it by himself. Id rather see a Superman sequel personally.

I sure hope they retell Batman's origin. I don't really remember. Was it something about His Butler that inspired him?

I worry that Batman will be completely overshadowed by superman.

I have seen a few animated crossovers where batman had a strong role, but I don't know how that would work in live action.

They need to reboot Batman first. Chris Nolan's Batman with Christian Bale is too fresh in everyone's heads. Bale said he's not doing batman anymore, which kinda ruins any sort of crossover IMO. Honestly, I don't want another batman. It's too soon. And I think Man of Steel sorta sucked anyway.

a world's finest movie could be good--but i'm weary about how it would turn out while in the confines of this "realistic" tone the dc movies are goin for.

It's amazing how one "meh" movie can really dampen people's enthusiasm towards seeing big ccharacters together on the big screen. Although perhaps you could argue it was to movies that made people go "meh" if you count DKR. Not to meniton the ending of Rises raises serious questions about how those two universes would collide. Would Bruce Wayne return? Would it be "not Robin" playing Batman? Also how the hell does the Bruce Wayne of Nolan's Gotham even keep up with Snyder's overpowered God of a character?

Sorry I'm offending people but f*ck superheroes and I'd be happy to see Hollywood being forced to put out films that have nothing to do with comics for a few years. There's such a thing as oversaturation of the market, you guys!!

A live action version of that would be so good. They could even reuse all of the music from that movie. Better than most live action movies.

Regardless, what I said is how the filmmakers see it. Snyder even said that in his universe, Superman is the first super hero, and the others follow him.

yep like I said to the guy earlier in this thread who said all this was possibly fake and just rumors. It was going to happen, hollywood is predictable. Superhero movies are making to much money and with the success of the avengers. They are going to try to get batman and superman in the same movie as fast as possible.

I will say though, I always had a problem with batman the guy with no powers being able to hang with the other heroes in the Justice League. When they are fighting super strength aliens or stuff like that. Thats why I only really like batrman when he's only in Gotham. When he is on other planets fighting a monster that's 50 feet bigger than him and wins that's when I gotta call BS. So I get what your saying

Agreed, character wise though they have played off each other very well. In the animated films Bruce is very aware of when he needs Clark to do things he can't, and usually comes up with the plans. It works well enough even if it gimps Supes in the brains area to do so.

Not excited for this. Nolan's trilogy is still too fresh in my mind, and Man of Steel was a good origins, but I'd prefer to see more of him before they start throwing other superheroes into the mix.

I think it could work out great. Superman and Batman are usually best friends even though they kinda don't like the way that the other does things. And honestly, who wants to see yet another batman origin story?
