Everyone tell you to take it, are just wrong man. You are a human being just like them I dont care if their shirt says superviser, they dont have the right to treat you like crap. Ugalde-
First off, yes they do as long as they aren't breaking labor laws. Second, being treated like crap is subjective. Some people are just really sensitive.

I usually dont confront them.

I keep my friends close and my enemies closer so I would totaly suck up and better her up and manipulate.

However, you can always confront without being an ass.

If you plan to stay there long, you have to negociate your pay, and how you are treatedin general before diving in too deep with responsibilities and stuff

[QUOTE="Lord_Omikron666"]

[QUOTE="KungfuKitten"] It's kinda weaksauce to let other people treat you like that. That doesn't sound like a good solution at all.

KungfuKitten

Sometime that's just how it has to be when that person is your supervisor, you don't like them, they don't like you, but you just have to put up with them because they're in a position above you.

Ugh I would never be able to do that... That is like giving up on what you stand for.

No, it's like not needlessly causing drama at your workplace. The fact of the matter is there's going to be people at your work that you just don't get along with.  Dealing with it rather than causing drama is part of being an adult.

Fankly, if there's only one staff member he has an issue with, I think he should consider himself pretty lucky. Likewise if the worst thing that comes of it is his manager talks to him like he's stupid. That's pretty minor.

Dude I have had this exact problem with all my managers at the new Wal Mart I started working at. You have a couple ways to go about this. You can make her angry by answering everything she says with a one words answer and say "what" a lost so she has to reapeat herself. Or you can simply tell her not to talk to you like that, and if she continues go to someone above her.

If you continue to be effective at your job, someone will witness her being abusive to a quality employee and she'll get her ass reemed. Also try to get noticed by her superiors. If you can get them to like you, then it won't matter what she has to say about. Also understand that in retail management turnover can be just as high as hourly employees, so it's possible that if you stick it out long enough that she'll be gone.

Everyone tell you to take it, are just wrong man. You are a human being just like them I dont care if their shirt says superviser, they dont have the right to treat you like crap. And in todays coporate world their is always some manager above them that will force them to treat you okay. Once you let people know you wont tolerate being treated like that either by reporting them, in front of their face, or just straight up telling them to not talk to you like that, they fall in line. If you do report her though dont do it behind her back like your scared. Tell her not to talk to you like that, then when she says something ask her to speak with the manager above her. It works like a charm. Believe me man I know how to deal with this type of crap.

Basically, I'm working this grating retail job to make ends meet since I just moved to a different city.

I have 4 supervisors and one just took this immediate, unwarranted disliking to me. I do all of my work well and I do it on time. I help others. I've made fast friends with my coworkers. But this ***** always finds something to harp on me for. Lately, she doesn't have my work to criticize so she will speak to me like a toddler. I feel like she's trying to get me to lash out at her this way.

Anyway, I'm still in my probation period since I haven't even been there 2 months. I really want to talk to her and tell her that her way of speaking to me is very disrespectful but at the same time I'm worried if I bring it up, they'll label me a "problem employee" and just fire me before my probation period is up. What can I do about this?

Report her to HR for harrassment and then just drop it.

Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do about this sort of thing. All you can really do is avoid this person when possible, and bite your tongue when you can't. I worked in a fast food job for five years with several managers, and I can point to a time where I liked each of them more than the rest, and times when they were just the worst person in the building. It was very odd how they rotated from best to worst that way.

Hang in there I know it seems impossible, but your view of that person could very well change over time.

Depends where you work. I should note that after training and dealing with the most ****ing stupid people at work, I try not to assume every new trainee is an idiot. However sometimes people amaze you, and you've got to treat them accordingly to ensure things get done correctly. Just show her you're capable and know what you're doing. She'll figure it out.

It is only difficult because you are a coward and you are not used to doing those things. With practice it becomes easier. It is certainly the best thing to do. I have been in those situations and resolved things through honesty without being cruel or disrespectful. It may not work 100% of the time, but it is certainly worth practicing.

The company doesn't pay you to work, you pay the company with work. If you don't like the way the company is being, pay them with less work

Just tell her that you feel disrespected when she does that and ask it if she could stop doing it, I doubt she is a total ass who would fire you for it, maybe she's just messing with you, and even if she does, im pretty sure you could sue her or the place for firing you for demanding respect after doing nothing wrong.

People are giving lots of different answers. Some people are saying to just suck it up and deal with it, some people are saying go go to HR and file a complaint, some people are saying to discuss the issue with her. I don't know which is correct. I guess any of these could be potentially correct, depending on how abusive the comments are. But I absolutely wouldn't do anything until your probationary period is over. Numerous times, I've heard managers talking about an employee who is bugging them in some way or another. For whatever reason they think this employee is gonna end up being a problem, so they say "she's still been here for less than 90 days, right? In that case, I'm getting rid of her." It's a lot easier to fire someone when they're still on their probationary period, don't give her a reason to fire you by telling her that you're gonna be a problem for her.

Sorry but I have never let someone treat me like crap and I never will. Maybe your okay with that but I have never, and will never, let it happen. Life is to short to let someone disrespect you for no reason.

Unfortunately, you just have to deal with it. Use it as motivation to get out of retail as fast as you possibly can. You have to understand that these stupid-visors that have been working retail for awhile are nobodies. Most likely with GEDs. They enjoy the power trip. The only way to beat them is to become better than them.

My advice would be to spend your free time looking for another job. Not only to be happier but if that person really has it out for you then it will eventually result in you being fired.
