The father left the axe between her legs, pointing to the feet, a gesture that usually has sexual connotations and expresses the motives behind the murder. In an interview with newspaper Blick, Swera's boyfriend explained that the girl's parents had strongly disapproved of her relationship with him, primarily because he was a Christian.

That's horrible. I heard that somewhere in Europe there are prisons where people are given very good living conditions as a means to rehabilitate them. Even though I hear it works very well, sometimes I wonder if they really deserve a second chance.

Of course people would still do bad things without religion, but as often as people do in a world plagued with religious zealots? I think that's highly questionable...
If religion being to blame is entirely out of the question, like most of the pus*ies here think, then please explain why stories like this pop up so damn frequently? The fact is when otherwise normal people are brainwashed into a religion and terrorized with threats of eternal suffering they are prone to doing crazy things, what's so hard to understand about that?

No exception is given for women to marry Jews and Christians, so the law stands that she may only marry a believing (Muslim) man. Im a muslim too,and i know that.But if a woman does marry an unbeliever that doesn't mean she should be killed.
I never said it was ok to kill her. Murder, especially of muslims is a sin. The problem is with us muslim, that incorporate islam as law, not faith. Like Sharia, which is what this nut used as an excuse for his behavior and anger.
honor killings is a cultural practice not an Islamic one. people from south Asia and some parts of turkey practice it. but it is generally people from rural areas. hindus in india practice honor killing if a girl marries a guy from a lower caste.(and again it is not a religious practice). growing up a muslim i knew quite a few girls who have non-muslims boyfriends. their parents were pissed but they never murdered them.

If a Muslim woman marries a kaafir when she knows the ruling, then she is a zaaniyah (adulteress), and her punishment is the punishment for adultery. If she was ignorant of the ruling then she is excused, but they must be separated. The punishment for adultery is death.
