Good for them, they should vent even more extreme ideas. Their retarded viewpoints are so ridiculous, they are digging their own grave. I can only applaud that.

No it's ironic. The Tea Party is a very small demographic that won't last long and they won't be successful with this stupidity. Now how does Palestine treat homosexuality?

I really don't understand this. Then again I really cannot understand the platforms of both the Tea Party and the Republican Party to begin with.

me too, and so does damn near everyone. TP has 21-24% approval and dropping. That's about 3-6% less than the GOP itself

Funny how that "very small demographic" seems to have an extremely disproportionate amount of influence with the GOP.

Man...I actually feel bad that real Republicans are getting dragged into this stuff. The Tea Party...talk about a bunch of idiots. I'm glad Democrats never have to deal with this embarrassing stuff almost every week.

Does Gaza's criticism of fringe within the US automatically validate the fringe that exist where he lives? I don't think it does.

It was the "real Republicans" who created and embraced the Tea Party in the first place (remember how nobody knew who Sarah Palin was until McCain picked her for VP?). The two or three who recognize the Tea Party for the extremists they are are derided by the rest of the GOP as being too liberal.

Does anyone still see the Tea Party as a third party or just a hardcore faction of the republican party?

Possibly a topic all it's own there.

Don't be too sure of that.. Many of the Tea Partiers in office come from districts in which they are so gerrymandered that they have a cold day in hell's chance of ever getting voted out of office... Add in the fact we have a incumbency rate of 90+ %, they are not going any where for a long time..

Hardcore faction for now until the Republican party does more to separate themselves from the tea baggers which will probably happen in the near future if there is enough backlash against the tea party.

The Tea Party is 3 steps away from the Westboro Baptist Church psychos.

Same gene pool, different agendas.

There are quite a few places in the world where a comment like this would completely tank the guy's political career.

Sadly, he doesn't appear to be from one of those places. Saying incredibly stupid, hateful things will only get him more votes. That's a sobering thought right there.

Even so, I see no harm in someone commenting on the fringe element of a particular state even if that person's state also has issues. Hell, we do it all the time.

Shame that they have such interesting idea in the Tea Party camp but the whole camp is comprised of people who are incompetent and like to hold governments hostage.

well they have the right to express their stupid ideals

The problem isn't that people like that are allowed to speak out. The problem is that people like that exist.

It's more that people/the media give them actual air time. There will always be some population of crazies

Yeeeeah, but it's gettin' kinda big now.

You know your opposition is crumbling when they just start making things up in hope that it scares people enough to make them support them. I mean, did they seriously compare the danger of smoking to homosexuality? It's a ridiculous spin but you just know someone agrees out there.. luckily it's a few.
