technology and kids

so my little 6 year old cousin watches TV all day, when hes not at school. he watches movies in the car (lcd screens) he has an LCD TV in his bedroom and watches movies before he goes to bed. he plays video games a LOT too. basically, its his baby sitter. When we're all out together as a fam, he'll actually recite movie quotes, just at random. its like he's playing the movies in his head, he'll laugh by himself as if he's watching them.

basically, do you know any kids that are infected by this disease? seriously, this is weird stuff and im not so sure i want my kid to have a Tv in his room, nor watch as much crap as my little cousin does.

I have an 8 year old nephew who's like that, though not nearly as severe, and honestly I feel bad for him, everyone kind of puts him down because he likes video games and not sports, and they say he's hyper and can't focus, but he's only 8, some times people expect way to much from kids. He'll probably grow out of it with a little push in the right direction TC, kids are weired, and don't know whats good for them, but really it's up to the parents.

Given the opportunity you would have done the same. a 6 year old can't exactly go outside with friends by themselves anyway.

Not only kids, a lot of people nowadays spend a lot of time in front of a pc/tv/console. It's great though.
