When I think of LBJ, I think of the Austin classic rock station once owned by the family.CRS98I like you.
I think so. but when i think of Amazon i think of three things.
Amazon the store.
Amazon the river in South America
Amazon the female warrior
Depends on context, need context of the convo.
But i do feel a disconnect. I'm only 24 years old, and talking to 18 year old and even 16 year old's, i'm feeling a disconnect. I grew up with Thundercats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turltes, and Ghostbusters. Just the things we reference and see things.
I was born in 86, so perhaps i'm one of the last generations to actually remember a childhood without a home computer and the internet.

You just don't know the system.:P When you quote someone at the same time they delete it, that is what you get. It's just a quirk from split-second timing. His post was still visible on my screen when I clicked quote. So I laughed when I saw it change.topsemag55
Ah yes that makes sene, you seem to know the system much better than I do. :P
I actually remember getting the first home computer with Windows 95 on it. Had a kids learning game with Timon and Pumbaa on it.
I actually remember the first cell phones my parents got, using Sprint. I remember a lot of firsts that are considered just part and pacel for younger kids nowadays.
I remember growing up reading a lot more books and magazines, watching saturday morning cartoons, having a phone where i either spun a dial or punched in the numbers and it was not cordless.Wheverver i was living, be it USA or Saudi.
When i was kid in Saudi, before they started doing after-school cartoons, my mom would tape on VHS's saturday morning cartoons from the 80's!. so i grew up actually watching stuff like My Little Pony, Care Bears, Thundercats, etc. even live shows were from the 80's we had.
I was raised pretty old school American style. and to be honost in a lot of ways i miss those days. mid-90's Minnesota culture had a lot of charm to it. It's why i love living in that state so much. Now Minnesota just feels a lot more like any other place i find in the US save possible accent and environment.
I'm a history buff so LBJ will always mean Lyndon B Johnson.
Talk about nostalgia.:ohaving a phone where i either spun a dial or punched in the numbers and it was not cordless.

It feels strange trying to keep a conversation going if one doesn't relate with the other, I've been there.I'm 31 right now, I really felt old when one of my 18 year old interns didn't know Firestarter by The Prodigy.

I'm of the target group, 1993.
When someone says LBJ, I have to think abit, because honestly, I would draw a blank, but then think Lyndon B. Johnson. Also, as a child, I had a dial TV set.
I was raised abit differently from my peers, I didn't get a PC until I was about 13, I grew up taping Saturday morning cartoons if I missed them. I grew up listening to 80's music and retro gaming.
My mother says I have an "Old Soul" because I can appreciate the ideals of older generations.
LBJ - I thought Lyndon B. Johnson. Yes? Do I win something?
MissLibrarian
Yes, you win crayon wrappings and fragments!22ToothpicksNothing more substantial? :( I bet most of the other UK users didn't think of Lyndon

i dont see how the internet would make people think LBJ is lebron james.
FPSunionOWNS
Seriously. I don't see what that has to do with technology. There were famous sports stars before things like the internet existed.
I'm also calling BS on the "more people break up via facebook than any other way" statement that the article made.
It's not a bad thing. You can't stay rooted in the past forever. My generation probably did things that the previous generations would scoff at. Times and fashions change.
