Gun enthusiast Ted Nugent blasts Piers Morgan: 'Leave us the hell alone!'. Some might not agree with the Nuge, but at least he tells Piers to f off in not so many words.
Do you think Piers had it coming?

Of course Piers Morgan has it coming. Â He's an imbecile. Â I think that Nugent is often a stupid blowhard, but I have to agree with him on this one. Â I think he put the gun-grabbing problem in the best, simplest terms- We (peaceful gun owners) haven't done anything. Â So yeah, leave us the f#ck alone. Â Â

Â
He didn't believe in the war (Vietnam). Â In retrospect, I think many Americans would agree with him. Â Smart move, given the circumstances. Â
I don't like both of these guys but at least Nugent is funny in a ridiculous way. Piers is just annoying.
Nugent might actually be dumber than Morgan is douchey

Bullsh*t. He's a goddamn chickenhawk coward. Nothing more.
Â
You don't know that. Â Besides, there should never be a draft for a war that involved invading another country. Â That should be purely voluntary. Â I can understand drafting for a war at home. Â

Right. He didn't believe in that war so much that he bragged in 1990 "if I would have gone over there I would have killed everybody (Detroit Free Press, July 15, 1990).

That doesn't prove he supported the war, just that he has a huge ego. If he supported the war and dodged the draft, that is pretty low. If he was against it, I don't blame him in the slightest and I'd have done the same thing. Whether this is actually a problem or not all depends on what he really thought, and no one seems to have definitive evidence either way.[QUOTE="worlock77"][QUOTE="hartsickdiscipl"]

Easy to say when you're not the one facing the "consequences." Â What do you suppose they would have been? Â I'm thinking living in your own crap for a week is probably better. Â

Maybe if it came to that, but if I don't want to go to war I certainly don't want to go to jail either. If I can avoid being drafted without also being imprisoned, why not take that course of action? Seems silly to me not to.Ted Nugent seems like a fun and decent guy. Whether you agree with him or not, he'd be the kinda guy it'd be nice to party with. Piers Morgan seems like he'd be a horrible little sh*theel in any situation he's involved in. He's one of those guys who just oozes with unpleasantness.RhazaknaI'm not sure.
It seems like he can't do a damn thing today without turning it in to a political argument.

That's only because they bring him on TV to discuss political issues. That doesn't say anything about what he does in his personal life.[QUOTE="worlock77"]

Just as it's easy for Nugent to support war when he never served himself huh? His own stated reason for avoiding the Vietnam draft had nothing to do with any objections to the war, but because he didn't want to put his career on hold.

Would he be fun to hunt with if all he talks about out there is his distain for people who dislike hunting? Hell no.

Would simply stating that get you out? They would send people who claimed to be conscientious objectors, because they were supposedly just trying to get out of going to war. I would think they did similar things to people claiming to be gay but I don't know for sure. Also, rumors of him being gay could've had a detrimental effect on his singing career, particularly back then. That's only because they bring him on TV to discuss political issues. Concerts are his soapbox. If he does that to people hes just hanging with, you may be right. But how he acts at concerts isn't at all necessarily how he acts in normal social situations.[QUOTE="Guybrush_3"]

Nugent has as big an ego as the guy in your avatar, William Shatner.
Couldn't stand Nugent in the past really......but he seems to have calmed down a lot, he's a little more palatable now.
I don't have a problem with Piers Morgan usually. I'm curious why he was kicked out of Britain though.
