The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be aliens, according to Michael Bay.

"When you see this movie, kids will believe, one day, that these turtles do exist, when we're done with this movie," he said. "These turtles are from an alien race, and they're going to be tough, edgy, funny, and completely lovable."

He just wants to ruin your favorite childhood series.

I don't really care, it's a silly change but I'm a fan and glad to see them getting more exposure. The TMNT series on Nick should be different as well, no point in recycling the same origin story over and over.

Probably one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. I know there's artistic license, but that'd be like changing the one ring into a funyun or instead of the Starship Enterprise everyone in the new reboot travelled by riding lawnmowers.

i mean realism as in, its easier to explain. i have a theory that krang is going to be in this, and he is going to have something to do with the creation of the turtles, so in a way, they are like aliens

He's a really intelligent rat, in the comic, that gets exposed to the radioactive ooze and grows.
