[QUOTE="munu9"] Great job guys, hope you guys end up creating an even more negative stereotype for satanist :| munu9

Who's creating stereotypes?

Some people who read this will probably develop a negative stereotype against satanist. And people who already have one will probably develop an even great aversion towards them

OBVIOUSLY we are going to develop a negative stereotype against satanist! They worship the devil and eat people!

[QUOTE="RPG-er"]how do you know if they were knifed 666 times, if they were eaten...? o_0Shiro-kun

If you follow the link.. you might find out?

That article says nothing about how they figured out they were stabbed 666 times. And if they actually were it would be nearly impossible to count each exact stabbing because the body would be so mutilated.

Of course they didn't count it, they simply saw the body parts completely knived and thought of it. It makes sense to me, it doesn't need to be 666 per say, geez.

Also, refer to a sky news post I posted a few posts back (that's a lot of post).

Satanism (at least the traditional forms) have little to do with harming others. I'd think there's another element behind this...

Either way I'd have to ask the question "Why?" :|
Saturos3091

This happened in Russia I believe. the term Satanist's may be different there. Or you know, they could actually be Satan worshipers.

Think about it.. How can anyone not have a negative stereotype about satanists?

Agreed. How can anyone who essentially worships evil be considered even human?

satanist and evil worshiper are different things ye know

It varies. Some simply worship what satan represents, others believe that satan is == to nature and they worship that.
Being a satanist does not actually mean you worship the devil.

I'm sorry to disagree with you but I don't believe that to the full extent. If Satanist's don't believe in a god nor worship anything other than themselves, how come some satanists follow this code of 'satans' laws and actually perform rituals? I'm not saying all satanists do it. I don't even know the percentage, just from this program I watched, which coincidentally, came on last night. They claimed they didn't worship Satan but they associate themselves with these things. Why? Shock Value?

You must be a fundamental Jew. I am a Catholic. So I believe in the Old Testament and the New testament and I am not a fundamentalist. Also the devil is the snake in Genesis.

P.S. The New Testament fulfills the Old Testament.

Satanists worship themselves. And if you read about the Church of Satan, they do perform rituals. They perform quite a number of rituals. They believe that the power comes from within themselves, they don't actually worship Satan as the name implies.

most of them are assosiated with them simply because of old ideas held from people on the outside, most satanists are a type of athiest really

just found this which describes the beliefs of the biggest sect

Some of their beliefs and practices are:

They do not worship a living deity.

Major emphasis is placed on the power and authority of the individual Satanist, rather than on a god or goddess.

They believe that "no redeemer liveth" - that each person is their own redeemer, fully responsible for the direction of their own life.

"Satanism respects and exalts life. Children and animals are the purest expressions of that life force, and as such are held sacred and precious..."

A lot of what I've seen makes Satanism misleading, the name, some of the actions; ideals performed, It seems, at least to me, being the same as if someone followed the Ten commandments of the Bible yet believe there is no God at least if a Satanist has this book that states, "these are Satans laws." But I get what your saying nonetheless.

Lets straighten something out. These people called themselves Devil worshipers not Satanists. Satanists in the Laveyan sense are atheists. While devil worshiping cults are theistic (although left hand path people argue over what devil worship is exactly and how to categorize it). Also keep in mind Christians kill people everyday why does a devil worshiper get attention because it plays into mystery of devil worship and media need something to report to scare people. Sure this stuff is gruesome but its also rare.

Well seeing as the number of the beast is 616 (At least according to the oldest known version of the Book Of Revalations) these aren't very clever satanists.

Here's a decent explanation as to why it is called Satanism.
You should read the Satanic Bible, which covers this very topic.
