[QUOTE="Serraph105"]texting is pretty stupid in my oppinion because you should just call the personRikardur
I agree.
Why have a conversation composed of several text messages (which cost me good money) when you can just call and have it all said then and done.
I agree. Then again, by that time, texting will be a thing in the past. Hopkins_JIt's a thing of the past now. I guess then they'll be calling them instead of using their hologram phones.
you people have no friends and are not up with the times its hard to call people when you're in the middle of somethign or if you really dont ahve that much to talk about phone conversatiosn suck and have pauses when everyone is done talking texting is easier and takes less time.Bauers-Twin
If that doesn't call for the lol wut pear, I don't know what does. :? You are aware that simply waiting until you have a free minute is an option, yes?
There's nothing wrong with texting itself, it's pretty useful for little note/reminder/confirmation kind of messages, such as "hey so we meet at the cinema at 4:30 right?" and the person simply replies "yes".
The problem is, like some said, when people are actually having a conversation via text messages, it's annoying and stupid, and a waste of money. I just remembered, I absolutely hate it when I'm at the movies and I see someone texting in mid-movie, I just want to yell at them "can't you just leave that damn thing along for one freaking second and pay attention??? Can't you live without your cell phone attached to your fingers?!?!" :x
its not only teenagers...
i've seen a couple of adults who seem to be doing it too..and to be honest its annoying as hell. are you so lazy that you gotta text me?
I'm not going to lie, I text a lot. But, I do have the common courtesy and respect to stop texting when I'm in the middle of a conversation with someone. The most annoying someone can do is text while you're telling them a funny story, and they laugh, and you're like, I know, funny right? And they say, oh no, so-and-so is texting me and said...etc. Lots of my friends do that. socked_feet
If somebody did that to me I would break their phone.
I hate texting, I must be the only one my age who hates it and still hasnt picked up the language yet.lucky326
If you're going to text, you don't have to adopt the crazy, illegible code that many people use.
(I know, I know, it's not exactly illegible, but I really don't like it).

I wish.
Texting is a waste of time.
I'd rather call the person.
Racer_XLR
That's too much logic for most people.
Man, I try to hang out with some of my friends but the problem is, they just won't stop texting. I can't even have a decent conversation with the person because they are always texting. Better yet, I find it rude when they text at the dinner table. Man, if my kid does that, I will disown him/her. Then again, by that time, texting will be a thing in the past. Anyhow, what are your thoughts on texting and do you find it annoying like I do?Hopkins_J
I agree, I hate when I'm talking to my neighbor and she'll be like "Hold on" and push buttons on her phone for three minutes while I stand there.
Also I'm horrible at typing things on a one inch button pad where 9 buttons are supposed to substitute 26 on a footwide keyboard, it's stupid IMO.
[QUOTE="Vashn"]wow, know wonder why the American school system is so screwed up...lol, at my school we have people sitting right next to eachother and texting x.x
(kids are allowed to text in school, just not while teachers talking)
Hopkins_J
most of them you arent allowed to text in school, atleast at mine even seeing your phone even if its off is automatically taken away, and it was the same for any electronics even headphones sticking out of your pocket, teacher or principal sees them, hey you give me those
I text a lot. I'm the manager of the girls tennis team at my school, and talking on the phone isn't allowed during matches (and there is nothing else for me to do) so I text. Not to mention whenever I'm around my family I don't just want to start talking on the phone so they can hear everything I'm saying.
It allows for privacy. And as mentioned it's great when you just have to send that quick message.
Plus I have unlimited texting and my phone has a keyboard...
