I was talking with my dad about this yesterday, he said December 22nd will be the biggest shopping day in history. Because no one will have bought Christmas presents, expecting the world to end. We will all be fine, quote me on that
[QUOTE="Dtnoip28"]I just can't wait until 2013, just so I can laugh at the people who actually believed it. December 24th, 2012 will work too. A few reasons why 2012 doomsday won't happen: 1. Common sense 2. The Mayans, while relatively advanced in their knowledge for that time, were already far behind in astrology and science compared to European and Asian cultures of that day. Their knowledge doesn't even compare to what we know today. 3. It is also a myth that the Mayan culture "disappeared." In fact, Mayan culture and their people is a major part of the Yucatan Peninsula today. They were fighting against the Mexicans for independence up until the 20th century. Were they using black magic or their mysterious understanding of the universe to combat Mexican troops? No, they were using rifles, grenades, and cannons to blast apart their enemies with science, goddammit. 4. The fact that their calendar "ends" doesn't mean the end of the world. It just restarts. For example, our calendar "ends" on December 31st, and restarts on January 1st of the next year. 5. The Mayans, in terms of the entire world, is a small group of people that held power during a relatively small time in history in a pretty small space on Earth. And they apparently know when the world ends, while 1000000 other cultures with their own doomsday theories are wrong? Lol? ^ TRUTH.
