i'm Canadian, so i don't have to wory about a draft, but even if i was American, why would i want to be forced to go fight a war that has no cause, or purpose? if it was a war for a good reason (like WW1, or 2) sure, i'd fight, but i wouldn't fight for the greed of a president

Eh no, getting drafted to get shipped to Iraq is not protecting the American "way of life." Besides that, a draft cannot coexist with the American "way of life." It's not the American way to force people to uphold your beliefs.

Oh yes, God knows if you decide you're against a war you can't possibly be a good American. Pfft......so if the gov't decides you need to go fight than thats it?? You shouldn't be able to have a say in it? Or once again, god forbid, actually disagree with the gov't. There are some Americans who love this country with all their heart AND still don't believe in going to war. Crazy notion, I know, but they are out there.

That and the new Chief-of-Staff is talking about reinstating the draft. I don't personally think it'll happen but it IS being talked about.Vundi

US will not need a draft for 20 years...if not even then. United States has plently of reserves and people willing to serve in the army, who already are in it. And if I had to, so be it. I will fight for my country, and for the people who will flee to Canada, grow up.-Karmum-

Have we been overtly attacked by any nation recently? How many americans feel that there is an immediate threat to us in the world today that we must defend ourselves from? This is not the 1930s and there is not some crazy dictator in Europe trying to take over the world. Things are a little different now.

Its ironic that all this new draft talk starts up the day I receive my comfirmation later about registering for the draft SaintLeonidas
