Ok, so I'm buying a new pair of earphones. My Ipod phones are really bad and I require something way better.

Ive been doing some research and found theses baby's...

SE530 Sound Isolating Earphones

Shure SE530 Noise cancelling Earphones..... My god.

They look amazing, but they are also $500...

Then I found these...

http://www.tryandbyte.com.au/images/1214286424_Triplefis.jpg

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Earphones..... They are also amazing, and less expensive.

So Gamespot, I need you to tell me the better earphones for price to soundquality ratio.

Also, suggest anything other that is amazing, im open.

Both are a waste of money if you plan on using them to listen to MP3 or similar files.

This is nearly as good and costs less.

I would use them for my Ipod and my CD player. All my songs are at 320 kbs if that helps. My Bose headphones work quite nicely with my Ipod.

I'm sorry, but skullcandy earphones really lack bass and a solid acoustic. Yes, they do block out sound, they are cheap, and better then the ones I have now, but I'm looking for something that will absolutely stun me. I'm a really heavy listener to metal, alt rock, classic rock, and techno so really good bass is essential the listening experience I want. My Bose headphones really do that, but I need somthing sleeker, somthing I can pull out of my backpack or pcket and listen too in class casually. Also for bus rides when there is alot of backround noise.

Unless you are a huge audiophile (and I'm guessing you're not because you're upgrading from standard ipod headphones), you really shouldn't waste your money on these. If you really feel the need to get "high-end" earphones, start with the basics and, if you like them, work your way up from there. Shure e2c's (about $60 new) /e3c's (about $150), or the renovated itterations of these, etymotic er6i (even the er4p's are under $200 and are of excellent quality), ultimate ears super.fi 3's, etc. Also, I can't stress this enough, try on a pair of IEMs before you buy a pair; many people simply cannot stand them in their ears...don't just think you'll be fine.

K so alot of people dont think these are worth it. I really need some suggestions now.....

To the Bose Earbuds: Yes, I love Bose so I started to look into these. I checked online and found that they are good overal earphones. I think I will ask one of my friends who has a pair of these and try them on. Possibility.

To Shure se420: Looks awsome, I will try these out with the 540's. High Possibility.

To Apple earbuds: No.....I'm ready to burn these. The treble is ok, but the bass frequency is almost nonexistent.

Thanks to everybody that responded, I think I'm going to try on a bunch of earphones and the ones that fit me and sound the best. I have ridiculously small ear canals so most don't even fit me...:(

Keep coming with suggestions. :)

Sound Isolating earphones will be a plus:D

My god, you like bose. Bose are terrible to horrible to begin with, and your running them straight out of an ipod withought an amplifier. Wow. Both you listed are multiple times better than any product bose produces. go to www.head-fi.org and be converted. Your on the right track with those two though. The shure have more bass, the ultimate ears (which I have) are a more equall, balanced sound. Please check out the website I listed before you make a purchase though. You will learn tons and become completed addicted to audophile related stuff.

SaintLeonidas

this.

to be honest, all your going to do with those high-end earbuds is give yourself 90-year-old hearing capability at age 50. Youre gonna be like "Oh my God, these are terrific" and crank that crap up and ruin your hearing. Earbuds are notorious for doing this.

Just get some generic, yet decent, earbuds (or light headphones for that matter) and enjoy the music. I understand and appreciate your enthusiasm, but it just seems unreasonable to me (and many others it seems) to spend over 30 bucks for earbuds.

Meh, the ones that came with my phone work fine for me. I don't see how $500 earphones could be any better than $50 ones.

Not true. Since they are noise cancelling you keep the volume lower and anything under 60% is safe for your ears.
