[QUOTE="Mafiree"][QUOTE="charlesdarwin55"] Yeah but Japan did much worse things to the Chinese than putting them in internment camp. You never talk about the Chinese but that was almost another holocaust in itself.charlesdarwin55
I don't see how that disputes my claim against the 1930s and 1950s being the greatest generation then. That would only strengthen it.

You saying 1930s to 1950s was the greatest generation?? Or not??

If you read my posts, you would see that I do not believe the 1930s to the 1950s were the greatest generation. In part due to my original posts that cited the atrocities committed against the Japanese and Jews........

1-9 - 1980's-1989's. Because: You grow up on cartoons and animations that have a rougher, darker and more mystical element to them, it feeds your imagination and helps you become a much more interesting person for the rest of your life. You learn the value of dreams and the harshness of reality, from go you learn about loss, sacrifice, to cherish what you hold dear and have the determination to overcome what's thrust against you.

10-16 -2001 - 2009. Because. Speaking in the UK at least, one thing Labor did do was improve the quality of the Schools, ok so Conservatives are now screwing that up, but I find kids from that generation tend to be quite open minded, have been given a better chance at education and as a result from'what not to do' in the past, are living their teens within a clash of cultures and managed to slip in their uni degrees before the tuition fees got tripled.

21-50 - 1946 -1978. One thing we can thank World War 2 for, it certainly left lots of opportunities to start your own business.

Yeah I agree with you. Im just saying the Chinese went through much worse things than the Japanese. Although you shouldn't compare suffering...but still.

The only other time period I could pick other than the present would be in the 90's when I was a kid. But I like the direction the modern world is going and all of the advancements we continue to develop.

I tried to think of a time period I wish I'd lived in but I actually wish could live in the distant future to see how things turned out. But since that is not an option, I will pick the Present - I need my technology!!! :)

I was born in 93 but I would like to have been a teenager in the 90s because arcades were still present, the SNES, and Nirvana.

I liked the 90's the most. Can't say I liked the past generations since I haven't lived in those time periods....

I reckon it would have been awesome to have been a teenager of the 70's, 80's or 90's. I, however, am I teenager of present day. Oh well, I like present day! But it did look awesome back then. :D

Right now is the best in my opinion. If anything I'd prefer live a couple decades into the future.

[QUOTE="Mafiree"][QUOTE="charlesdarwin55"] What? If anything the Japanese where the perpetrators. You even know what they did to the Chinese?charlesdarwin55
Not the US citizens who were put in internment camps by the "greatest generation".......

Yeah but Japan did much worse things to the Chinese than putting them in internment camp. You never talk about the Chinese but that was almost another holocaust in itself.

It was the Japanese Military doing these things so why did ours have to lower themselves to the same level by targeting their civilian population as well?

It did end the war but was completely unnecessary and the president knew of other ways to end it as well, he simply didn't care.

I'd say 1930's to 1950's,

I mean it had everything, and people were nicer to each other then, they truely were the greatest generation.

sonofsmeagle
That is also the greatest generalization. Present obviously. Watch this: http://www.ted.com/talks/michael_specter_the_danger_of_science_denial.html He is not the best speaker, but he gets his point across

As long as I could take my 3DS with me, I would enjoy growing up in the 40's/50's.

People are silly choosing different eras to live in rather than now.
