Isn't it peculiar that the bible would clearly state:

"Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?" I Corinthians 11:14

Yet the rest of the book goes on to pretty much put Jesus on a pedestal and say he is a savior, and all that crap? Also, the book of Corinthians is in the New Testament, so for all the "christians" who only follow the NT, you've got quite a dillema on your hands. Worship the long-haired savior, or take these words in THE NT as a golden guideline, which would actually force you to agree that Jesus was a shameful person for having his hair long. So which will you choose? You can't have both.

Uh oh...looks like you're going to have to discard the NT as well as the OT...now you've got no bible left! Or you can keep the NT, but have to accept Jesus was not perfect, as his long hair brought shame unto him, and can no longer look up to him...but of course if you no longer looked up to Jesus, why keep the NT around either, since the NT pretty much IS Jesus.

Yikes, I would hate to be in this pickle.

I don't think anyone cares. Especially if he's only being condemned in a single sentence for his hair.

Why would this change anything? I've seen far greater... pickles... that have never led to anything and always have some kind of explanation. It's just a bunch of stories; you can't twist them any more than a Christian can to argue back. >_>

Is your life so unfulfilling that you have to ask someone else if their life is so unfulfilling? My life is great by the way. Don't get mad. You can avoid topics you're not interested in, rather than saying silly things such as this.

Why on earth would a thread like this lead to evidence of an unfulfilling life? That's quite an empty hypothesis you've got there.

Did Jesus had long hair? He could be bold for all we knoiw.

And this letter was written to the Churches at Corinth, so it was probably uncommon for a man to have long hair back than there.

Do you have an explanation? Or are you just gonna pretend that one exists?

By the way, excuses do not equate to explanations. There's a difference. Excuses are for staying in denial, and avoiding admittance of flaw. An explanation would be based on factual information that would render the original question as being ill-informed and pointless.

So let's see what happens.

I'd rather remain firmly grounded in reality, and believe in what I can actually see. Mad? Hardly. Why would I want to disprove someones belief. I got no personal vendetta against them, I just disagree with some of their religions teachings, but I am not going to go up to them and tell them what they believe is wrong without any credible evidence. However, people like you, no matter what religion or belief system they follow, seem to think that they have to force upon other their own beliefs and make them agree with them.

Well wake up man, not everyone will agree with you. You just need to pull your head out of your arse before it comes out of your mouth and move the **** on. But like I said originally, your life must be so unfulfilling if you have to do this constantly in order to get some kind of buzz on the thought that you just disproved an entire religion when really you just annoy the general public, either atheist or whatever, and get no where.

This guy said it best:

Jesus has always been portrayed with long hair. There is no good reason to assume otherwise.

luke1889

Besides, I'm only trying to generate some thinking outside of the box. Of course we have no actual evidence what Jesus' hair was, but it's clearly another boneheaded move on the part of christianity to portray their savior in such a manner (wearing long hair), when their holy book simultaneously speaks against it. Correct?

C'mon dude, I thought you understood what I was doing.

Yes, I do, don't worry. Essentially, the traditional Christian portrayal of Jesus would, according to the Bible itself, be wrong.

I'd rather remain firmly grounded in reality, and believe in what I can actually see. When god shows his face, I'll believe in him...but since none of the gods of the past ever did, I doubt the christian god will ever do so either.

So your never going to believe anything unless its been proven 100%?

Mad? Hardly. Why would I want to disprove someones belief. I got no personal vendetta against them, I just disagree with some of their religions teachings, but I am not going to go up to them and tell them what they believe is wrong without any credible evidence. freek666

But you've got no problem telling me how you feel about me? Why is one ok but not the other? Fail.

But like I said originally, your life must be so unfulfilling if you have to do this constantly in order to get some kind of buzz on the thought that you just disproved an entire religion when really you just annoy the general public, either atheist or whatever, and get no where.

freek666

That's no my intention. You have no clue of my intentions. Fail.

You just need to pull your head out of your arse before it comes out of your mouth and move the **** on.freek666

Head in arse. Innovative. I never heard it before. FAIL.

Move on? Like you moving on away from me? Hypocracy = fail.

Overall grade: F-

Did Jesus had long hair? He could be bold for all we knoiw.

And this letter was written to the Churches at Corinth, so it was probably uncommon for a man to have long hair back than there.

Could be? Probably? So am I just supposed to live in imagination land with the rest of you guys until something better comes along? I'd rather remain firmly grounded in reality, and believe in what I can actually see. I don't think anything can be known 100%... proven 'beyond reasonable doubt' is better.

[QUOTE="deepdreamer256"] Ah, now wise man try to spark big fire with single spark. Wise man grandmother would be proud.Deity_Slapper

And talking like that is supposed to make you look better?

Wow I guess you TOTALLY "PWNED" me, right? Give up, son.

Actually, I find this very amusing because it shows that you actually appear to be taking this whole long hair thing seriously. Maybe you should search for a more powerful and believable argument.

I notice that no one seems to have come up with a counter-argument. It's all ad hominem attacks. Take that as a compliment, DS.

Anything of this magnitude, correct. I need 100% proof that it would be beneficial to me to give my life to Jesus, or I can't do it. It's too important.

Little things though, such as, "is this expired cupcake safe to eat or not?" I can use my intuition to feel it out. I can end up believing it's safe even f it's not, as it won't have a major effect on my life. Even if I ate an expired cupcake, it probably wouldn't harm me.
