in what sense?[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="ferrari2001"] The value of our dollar...Blubadox
Foreign Exchange reserves.
Not very informative :( There isn't an absolute objective measure of the value of currency, is there? Doesn't it have to all be indexed against other currencies? The dollar is not becoming worthless. This is the American dollar, not the Zimbabwe dollar. It is becoming weaker, but a weaker dollar does have its benefits when not brought to an extreme; the exportation of American goods benefits, which in turn helps the American economy.-Sun_Tzu-not to mention it's worth more than it was like a year ago >_>
its just numbers who knows they probably just raised it themselves to put some hope in some people but as far as i know the economy is still crapkingcobrasoccerwell, i did hear that they kicked some companies out of the DOW

Not very informative :( There isn't an absolute objective measure of the value of currency, is there? Doesn't it have to all be indexed against other currencies?Foreign Exchange Trading, it deals with major currency pairs, like Euro and USD. For example: You buy a currency pair (in lots) at a lower price, wait for some time and then sell it at a higher price. This isn't like stock exchange, it is not controlled by any regulatory board....due to this prices will drop or rise very quickly every second, if you take the training and analyze forex charts you'll know when to buy or sell a currency pair. Forex is something where people become instant millionaires or instant poor so it's highly risky...if you buy a currency lot for $100, tomorrow it could be $1000 or $10,000 or it could also be zero if you don't properly understand the market fluctuation.
Here is the Eur/USD chart

As usual that has been happening for months.
Also nations like China are always there to make sure the dollar stays strong. Good idea or not they've got a vested interest in making their exports cheap and keeping the dollar strong (relatively).
Dropping a company with a litterally worthless stock will do that (GM was dropped from the dow in june) It sucks that so many people were invested in GM. The stock market is usually a leading indicator so lets hope that this is a sign of good things to come.
i hope i don't get in trouble for mentioning system wars outside of it, but when i read that i thought it said lems. god that's funny, system wars and democrats versus republicans are the same. ewww, but that makes ps3 people republican.... shudderNow the dems are going to say that 0bama single handedly did this.

i kinda want the economy to fall some more lol, i have a bunch of stuff i need to sell on ebay, and the more inflation, the richer i am when the economy goes back up. =P sadistic, i know.
More inflation would mean your money would be worth less, thus you wouldn't be richer.i kinda want the economy to fall some more lol, i have a bunch of stuff i need to sell on ebay, and the more inflation, the richer i am when the economy goes back up. =P sadistic, i know.

So with inflation that "stuff" could be sold for more money than it would today. What he's not adding to that scenario is that whatever he buys with the money he is making is also going to be more expensive.i kinda want the economy to fall some more lol, i have a bunch of stuff i need to sell on ebay, and the more inflation, the richer i am when the economy goes back up. =P sadistic, i know.

They're rolling in it.
This makes me happy, BUT considering all of the monopoly money that the FED printed, I wouldn't be too excited yet...

He'd have "more" money, in bills, but it would actually be worth less because of the inflation he wanted to happen.i kinda want the economy to fall some more lol, i have a bunch of stuff i need to sell on ebay, and the more inflation, the richer i am when the economy goes back up. =P sadistic, i know.

The economy behaves like a petulant spoiled child (crazy all over the place, mind of its own). It does not move at a slow and steady pace.
Here is an over simplified example of the economy moving in a generally positive direction (or negative one):
+2000 day 1, -1900 day 2, +1950 day 3, +1500 day 4, -2500 day 4
NOT +50, +100, +10, +60
Moral: Don't get too excited yet

WHY WTF?Because you dunno what you are talking about, no offense.
Well the stock market is NOT the U.S. economy. Keep in mind who is listed in those market averages. Companies who operate not just in the US. They make money overseas as well. Also the stock market usually takes the biggest hits early because folks are looking forward often expecting the worst and so on. Having said that the market trend this year has been nice for those invested in it.The economy behaves like a petulant spoiled child (crazy all over the place, mind of its own). It does not move at a slow and steady pace.

Blubadox
Because you dunno what you are talking about, no offense.
1. I stated the fact that it was on Oversimplified example
2. Most modern economists agree that the economy moves in small waves
3. There is no longer a slow movement towards one direction
4. The economy has been moving upwards the last several months but it has also tanked just as many times
5. So the point of my oversimplified example was to help people realize that the economy will probably nose dive shortly, not just keep going up (even if we are moving out of a recession)
