What was the first viral video? Wikipedia points to "The Spirit of Christmas" as the first viral video on the internet, but I'm not convinced. Anyone know for sure?

Ebaumsworld ftw, best thing before youtube and theres newgrounds for selfmade animation fix.

The first viral I received was "Wheres waldo", except that is a picture so you cant click and you get that ugly face pop up @ 60 seconds.

Spirit of Christmas is prolly the closest to the first you can get. Was bein mass emailed before there really were any "video sites". People who said "sneezing panda", "chocolate rain", and "brittney" make me feel really old. Those are still pretty recent in my eyes.
