[QUOTE="airshocker"]

[QUOTE="GazaAli"]thanks for the info.Vandalvideo

I don't know if anyone has told you, but you need 30 minutes of cardio at least three times a week. Just walking or slow jogging on the treadmill won't do anything for you.

Depends what your goals are really. And that isn't totally true. You don't need that cardio. One could easily get the same amount of exercise at a 6minute pace for 10 minutes as they would a 12 minute pace for 20 minutes. (extended outwards) Also, if your goal is merely to look good cardio isn't even required at all. Enough weight lifting will take care of that. Also, as the above poster pointed out, mixing weight lifting with that much cardio requires you to eat an absurd amount of calories. With my 6+ miles a day I eat a whole pizza, a bowl of macaroni, a bowl of whole grain cereal, a handful of raisens, and a banana all before noon.

Wow. How much do you weight? And what's your height? I'm 5'8 and weigh 175. I don't want to put anymore weight than that. I go to the gym 3-5 times a week trying to push it to everyday.

These guys who say not to do cardio are the weight lifters. I understand where they're coming from. I'm not a weight lifter. I only require about 1800 calories a day. I sometimes eat more than I should, so three cardio sessions a day are just right for me and about every single other average person.

Very true. They have some decent equipment too.

Dude I don't mean to make fun of you gym but that place is regarded as a complete joke amoung bodybuilders. You can't get huge with just machines and smiths machines. :lol: the Lunk alarm is so stupid.

Yes, all the time, about 4 or 5 times a week, sometimes 6 or 7. I work out for an hour, hour an a half. It feels really good, even the soreness, it feels like progress, like you got something done....GTA_dude
agreed. I love the soreness. After leg day I am sore for at least 3 days. Feels good man.

Don't take it personally when I say I think all body builders are over-compensating for something.

Some of us don't want to body build. I'm 5'10, I don't need to look like a pitbull to feel good about myself.

I understand. Just do whatever makes you happy. I just hate that the gym makes people believe you can get big with all those bull **** machines.

Prepare to have your mind blown; I'm only 5'9 and I weigh 135lbs. But I have like 9% body fat and the vast majority of that weight is lean muscle. I have to eat that much to gain the calories and protein I need for my absurd amount of cardio. Otherwise my cardio will go catobolic on my muscles and defeat my weight training.

I hit the gym 3-4 times a week, and go running on the days I don't. I don't really do it to look good (although it's a nice bonus :)). Instead I do it to relieve stress and have better overall mental health.

Been working out for 3 yrs at the gym, but slowly putting together a home gym(any ideas on wieghts or things to get would be nice). I go at least once a day sometimes two run a 5k with walking involved for interval training. Then I go and do lifting and strength training. I love it helped build my confedence and self esteem.

A chin-up bar for your doorway is amazing. It's one of the simpler devices, but the effects are nonetheless phenomenal. I put one in the doorway to my bedroom, and every time I enter, I make sure I do a set.

I have 8 hours of physical, no-sitting labor, 5 days a week so I tend to skip the gym. Although I would like to go, I just can't muster up the energy. Also for a pull-up bar as some have mentioned, you could get the Iron Gym extreme, which you just set on your doorframe and do pull-ups off. I have used it several times before and have friends that use it on an everyday basis. You don't have to put holes in your wall and it's really sturdy. I believe it's like $40 or around there.

I stopped working out quite a while ago, but I need to start again UGH :(

When I did though, I would exercise about 5 days out of the week? It would depend on how busy I was. Oh, and I use equipment at home rather than go to a gym.

No, but I've been taking long walks . . . maybe 2 miles, a few times per week. It's not too strenuous, but it's all the exercise I get.

Everything has a risk to it, but you have to ask yourself whether sitting in front of a computer screen for three hours is worth more to you than hitting the gym for three hours to work on that six pack.

I have it on reliable authority that a "gime" is a gym for mimes. Indeed. They practice meaningful gestures in, of course, utter silence.

Yes, when i'll be in college in a few months, i'm hitting it hard. Started home workouts a month ago. For high school...idk i just kept thinking how embarrassed i'd look being in a gym. I'm a rather skinny short guy, and i kept thinking someone i knew would see me.
