Edit: There is nothing in the room, it's the size of a medium bedroom, no windows, nothing besides a small and dim light. There is no way out.

This is him and his crew of Cenobites. Not a group of demons you'd want to be around... They pretty much get off on pain.

EDIT: AH Beat me to it :P. I love the Hellraiser movies. Even the ridiculous more recent ones. He's just always been a scary horror movie villain to me.

Regardless of where they come from, I still categorize them as demons.. But you are correct, it never specifies exactly where they come from besides the Pandora's Box.

I think the bigger issue is that once all the other villains kill you, that's the end. It's over. But not so with Pinhead and the Cenobytes. Death is not the end, the suffering is presumably eternal.
