Just looking on IMDb today and I found this. Just reading the parental advisory stuff makes me wanna puke. Apperantly actors and animals were actually killed making this instead of using special effects.

No actors were killed. It's pretty damn disturbing but I think there's worse out there.

For me, probably Lord of the Flies.

More emotional than actually visual though.

Animals were killed, but no people were. I don't watch that many movies that are disturbing, so the most disturbing one I've seen is probably Oldboy. Some of the scenes in that movie made me cringe (and the ending did as well).

No actors were killed - that's an urban legend that's been attached to a large number of films.

I don't watch a whole lot of shock movies, but Hostel was pretty disturbing. I regret watching it, actually.

In Cannibal Holocaust they were taken to court because it is believed they showed someone get killed in the film or allowed it but it didn't actually happen, but yes there were quite a few animals killed during the filming. Its pretty disgusting.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer was probably among one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen.

I've watched Cannibal Holocaust three or four times. It's definitely up there. Requiem for a Dream is pretty crazy as well. It certainly convinced me to never do drugs.

Don't need to click it to know that you're talking about Cannibal Holocaust. I personally found it a pretty cool film.

Of course the natural list of these films will include Salo, recently Antichrist and I'm gonna chuck in a personal favourite, Aftermath.

I've heard about that too, seemed very odd. I'll have to see if I can find it at the video store. I will say that the soundtrack to Cannibal Holocaust is timed incredibly well.

Was it going to be the video with the woman on the chair or something? Because I saw that one and it was what piqued my interest.

Because when you watch a gory movie, you know it's fake, so you know everyone was safe. Here is way different.

Weak suspension of disbelief maybe? I laugh when I see a dog kicked out of a window in a movie. That dog-dropped-off-a-bridge video was not funny.

Scum. It's not a film that's gory or a mind-screw or anything like that, it's just completely unrelenting in it's brutality. A relatively realtistic portrayal of British young offenders prisons in the late 70s, and certainly not a film I would consider ever watching again. It has scenes of (male) rape and suicide that rank as some of the hardest to watch scenes of any film I have ever seen.

That all seems about rite. I was asking because the other day I was watching TV with my roommate who's a girl and we were watching Total Recall and Army of Darkness, but when that was said and done I went to National Geographic channel and the Taboo show was on. It was a segment on heroin users and some clinic in Canada where they can do it without risk of disease or something like that. Anyway. This lady put a needle in her neck and my roommate straight up flipped out and started crying. I asked her the same question I asked earlier to her and she just gave me and idk...

The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Its much scarier than even the original Exorcist. Its one of those movies I truly truly regret watching. It went under a lot of people's radars when it came out, but its probably the scariest movie I've ever seen. Granted, I'm not really a big fan of scary movies, but this movie has some pretty horrifying scenes that I wish I had never seen.

I do admit that these Exorcist movies are generally scarier to people who actually have religious beliefs, like me, so it was probably much scarier to me than to others.

I thought that was surprisingly creepy too, actually. What makes it worse is that it was apparently loosley based on a true story.

Definitely Salo (or the 120 Days of Sodom) but some others were Gummo (which imo is a terribly stupid movie but extremely disturbing) and Philosophy of a Knife

The original book that the original The Exorcist is based on is also loosely based on a true story.

Gamer was disturbing because of that ugly fat guy who was pretending to be a girl, he was just creepy and to think that guys actually do this in real life when playing online is whats most disturbing about it.. I'm glad I'm a girl and don't have to worry about that. I wonder how many guys have online relationships with girls who are actually not girls lol.

The Animals were killed but none of the people. The Director went to court for the murder of the cast but they showed up at the hearings to prove that wrong. That film is certainly up there for most disturbing. But personally, Salo is the most disturbing film I have ever seen.
