Honestly. I watched it with 5 friends, and it got maybe 3 real laughs and a handfull of pity chuckles. Its painful to watch. Probably one of the least entertaining cartoons out right now... and that makes me sad :(
I thought it was somewhat funny because it made fun of a series where they watch a group of people growing up from a young age and check on them every seven years. I don't think many people who watch the Simpsons know about that British documentary, but they did a bad job of mocking it. This episode was pretty lame, just like the Simpsons have been for a long time now.

It's official. The universe will now fold under itself and detonate, erasing all life forms except a handfull of humans in a desolate wasteland. well i guess it's kind of predictable for a show that aged to get snagged and slow down rapidly.

season 1 to 10 was the best. X- files episode, Homer's arch rival Grimes and when homer had to go up bat for his baseball game. I don't remember what season it was...but the episode where they had the day thing where lisa does this science project, a robot or something and bart finds fireworks.....that episodes....I noticed how simpsons wasn't funny anymore.

There were 8 minutes of pictures of kids playing, a little bit about Moe (completely useless to the storyline) then a commercial, then Marge talking about high school for soem reason (i don't think there was a point to that) and then mister Burns walks in, then a commercial, and then Homer is sad that he's not rich (he had 10 years to figure that out) but the nameless guy they jsut made up tells his he has a beautiful family and then that was it.

this is why everbody is creating unscripted reality shows, but those sucked about 6 months in so there really is no escape. We jsut better hope that some new writers are found

Family Guy has gotten away with it because its more 'crude humor.' The Simpsons simply cannot turn to 'crude humor' or else they would damage their reputation. If I ever see any of these writers, first I will praise their early work, then heckle them outa town for their absolute stupidity. I just don't understand how a sencient human being can be perfectly fine turning in grade-F work. I would be ashamed of myself for sucking.
Seriously though, i'm a moron and i could write an entertaining episode of the Simpsons. You have to wonder when the writers lost the passion for their work.
I don't watch The Simpsons anymore either. Infact, I rarely watch TV anymore. Law and Order SVU was the last thing I watched on TV (yesterday) in weeks.
