[QUOTE="comp_atkins"][QUOTE="sonicare"] Then it must be good that I live by 4 of the Great Lakes. :DUltimoIce

yeah, you're good. canada supposedly has the largest reserves of fresh water on the planet. my guess is in 40 years or so there will be a terrorist attack linked to canada...

More like, there will be terrorists there and we will have to invade. But they are right, the Ogallalla aquifer, for example, should run dry in the next 30 years. that will be fun times.

Don't expect the Great Lakes to be much use, bottled water companies are already all over that.

a terrorist attack linked to canada would justify the invasion... that's where i was going with that

In serious response to the topic, I can't speak globally, but in the UK we are facing many real situations but one above all concerns me. I was going to make a topic of it's own and I might do so still, but it's about the priminister. You see, our Gordeon Brown is actually quite a good bloke, he's trying to do some stuff for the best interest of the country. A lot has been uncovered since he's taken the seat, but he's not proved very popular to the other ministors and MP's.

Getting to the point, what is going to happen is Gorden is going to be replaced by some guy in the Conservatives party, which is going to mean very, VERY, VERY!!!!! Bad news for the working class citizens of the UK. You thought Thatcher was bad, your going to see a whole new meaning to the term 'Human Resorces'.

It will trigger many events, i'm interested in seeing if the people of today have the balls to do what they did back in the 80's, or if the government has succeeded in castrating them.

well, if you think that people will be genuinely scared by the notion of living in a country running on conservatist ideologies, then surely they will act upon it. Scared is scared, castrated or not. If the people do not oppose it, well then -- democracy at its finest right?

I thought of another, totally valid and terrifying scenario:

Monkeys (chimpanzees, specifically) will replace the common domesticated dog as "man's best friend" and become common household pets. Then one day, they will rise against us.

I have the balls , I think am Rorschach and batman sometimes why would i not . Also if all fail and am doomed off to Ireland to become a farm hand on relatives farms etc. I know people i would consider madder than me. I can also get my hands on firearms if a certain friend of mines joins in the protest if the country goes to the poop. Also he has them legally not illegally.

The full package, which requires you to also foot the bill for any extra content that might be released for Mass Effect 2, is a one-time up-front charge. The policy pays out full benefits if, at any time during the rest of your life, a volcano spontaneously generates under your feet without warning and sucks you in to your inglorious demise. So really, it's an opportunity that you can't afford to miss. Just one low, one-time fee and you're fully covered for one-person spontaneous volcano appearance and subsequent death for the rest of your natural life. For the additional fee of the God of War III Ultimate Edition, I'll also ensure a single loved one/life partner.

I refuse to believe this. I wouldn't want to live in a world where I'm the only one who caresses solid metal video game cases, or who always waits for the wife to get home before opening a new video game so we can sniff the "new video game scent" together. That's just...too sad to contemplate...that nobody else recognizes and appreciates these little, human, pleasures.

What on earth is wrong with you people?! For the love of Ralph, haven't you ever just lightly run your fingertips over the intricately carved designs of a solid metal casing? Or admired the artistry? As for the new video game smell, haven't you ever just barely cracked the case open so you can lean down and catch that first whiff? I mean, we'll probably find out 20 years from now that the chemicals caused by that whiff cause cancer or something, but it's the little joys in life that matter!

[QUOTE="BiancaDK"] *tells the kids to go into their respective rooms* ... stop it! D: just stop it! DDD:::

[QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"]What on earth is wrong with you people?! For the love of Ralph, haven't you ever just lightly run your fingertips over the intricately carved designs of a solid metal casing? Or admired the artistry? As for the new video game smell, haven't you ever just barely cracked the case open so you can lean down and catch that first whiff? I mean, we'll probably find out 20 years from now that the chemicals caused by that whiff cause cancer or something, but it's the little joys in life that matter!Jandurin
A) no B) nah, the only thing worth sniffing in such a manner is just opened magic cards Everything else pales in comparison

I'm so disappointed in you two. I'm not sure where our relationship goes from here. :(

Nothing that differs from the norm in humans behavior to be fearful. Humans seem to function better when they're afraid of something anyways.

That's actually a pretty creative idea. But seriously, I don't think we'll be able to predict the next big scare. I mean, were you able to predict AIDs or H1N1?
