@ghostofgolden: It's a great album. Definitely underrated! The second disc was kind of weird. I still find a lot of it hard to listen to.
Randomly discovered this old Algerian song recently... And it's one of the catchiest disco songs I've ever heard!
It also sounded vaguely familiar, like I've heard it before... Then I remembered it was used for some UK ad with a rollerskating turtle a few years ago.
Zohra – "Badala Zamana" (1977)
Been listening to quite a bit of Japanese city pop lately. Among city pop songs I discovered recently, this one is probably my favourite:
Nina Atsuko – "Hi-Way 1" (1985)
I only first heard it a few weeks ago, yet it feels so nostalgic, like music I listened to as a kid in the early '90s... Especially anime and video games from the early '90s. For example, the first Sonic game's Star Light Zone music... I guess this was the song that inspired it.
@Jag85: Lol.The videogame songs from that era were pretty good. The other day i was watching gamecenter cx(japanese show) and part of the staff of the show played a song from a game called ''the journey of silius'' with real instruments and it was pretty good.

Do you have a link to the video?
Journey to Silius was peak Sunsoft...
Fun fact:
Journey to Silius was originally called... The Terminator.
However, because the game's plot deviated significantly from the movie, the Terminator license was revoked. And so Sunsoft re-branded it as Journey to Silius.
