Anyone else notice this? Pretty much every character pauses and makes murmers sounds like "uhhhh" "uehhhhehhhh" like they are constantly nervous and/or having stomach problems trying to hold in diarrhea. Character #1 will say something, then character #2 will be all awkward like "uh, uhhehhhhhhhh" and they continue this several times through all dialogue.

What is wrong with the Japanese to think this is ok and socially acceptable for their characters to mumble constipated sounds? Are the majority of Japanese extremely nervous/shy or something and they view this as normal?

It's a combination of phrases that don't translate, moments where they have to extend the dialogue to match the mouths and times when the characters actually go "uh"

They do it in FFXIII a lot, and in most animes I've seen. The best I can describe it is an awkward flustered "uh, uhhhhh" that the characters loudly express pervasively throughout dialogue .

If he means Vanille from FFXIII, all I can say is it's a shame you can't change the audio back to japanese in that game (or can you?); her english voice actor is so terrible she single-handedly kills everyone else's voice work.

I'm not sure about animes but the noises and facial expressions in their uh...mature movies makes it unwatchable.

i get it now. anyway i guess the earlier anime creators added it and they really just kept doing it. Japanese culture is really reserved so they do crazy things in the anime department

I think it's just lip-sinc/translation problems with JP language games, but I have noticed even in the native JP they tend to grunt/groan & gasp a lot. Just being overly dramatic methinks.
