Well I came across an article that said that Americans financial situation has gotten worse during the so-called recovery than during the recession. A study by Sentier Research using data from the Census Bureau show that the median household income decreased more during the recovery than during the recession.

"Gordon Green, former chief of the Governments Division at the U.S. Census Bureau and co-author of the report (with fellow Census veteran John Coder), says, ?Real income fell by 3.2 percent during [the recession]. And during the recovery it went down by 6.7 percent.? So ?income [has] declined twice as much in the recovery as in the recession itself.?

Strange huh. But I don't know many people who are in better shape financially now then they were during the time of the recession.

The term "recession" refers to the state of the financial markets i.e. banks, NOT the financial situation of the average home.

It's quite possible to be in a recession and still live comfortably and vice versa.

Yes, I had a feeling the reason the recovery was worse than the recession is due to a technicality in the definitions of recession and recovery.

I admit I don't care for the titles of the site's articles. That includes the title of the article I linked to, "Obama recovery worse than Bush recession", partly because I think the terms "Obama recovery" and "Bush recession" are rather simplistic, ignoring the role of Congress and of economic fluctuations that are not controlled by the President. Also I think some of the economic recovery is due to Bush's bailing out the banks.

Considering that the Democratic Party is the primary recipient of lobbyist money and that this has been the case for DECADES, we can write you off as another ignorant drone that manufactures his narrative as he goes along.

Without trying to be funny, I have a simple question as a reply to the original question: what recovery? Obama has done even more damage to the American economy since he became the President. He's accelerating American decline.

Good question. Recovery is being used as a technical term, since the financial sector is doing better, we are in a recovery. That doesn't mean the average American is doing better, in fact it seems he is doing worse.

It's hilarious how partisan Democratic hacks like yourself continue to perpetuate this lie, year-over-year, that money drives politics and that the Republican party is the "money party". A quick glance at this link reveals the truth: http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php?order=A

Well he says we're in recovery, Until 2013 that is, when Obama's policies may plunge us into a new recession if he continues to try to force religious institutions to violate their beliefs. http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Columns/2012/03/01/Obama-Risks-$100-Billion-if-Catholic-Hospitals-Close.aspx

The bottom line is clear, there is NO RECOVERY. Obama has added five trillion dollars to the federal debt, which brings total American federal debt to about 15 trillion dollars. He was worsened the budget, raised taxes on many Americans. That's to say nothing of state and municipal debt, or unemployment, or slow GDP growth. His presidency is an abject failure by any objective measure.

The Problem is that the way Obama has done it for the past 4 years is to take out a credit card from the bank of China in the name of our children driving up our national debt from $10 trillion for the first 43 presidents, number 44 added 5 trillion dollars by his lonesome, so that we now have over 15 trillion dollars of debt, tha, that we are going to have to pay back, $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That's irresponsible, that's unpatriotic!

You're backtracking now, but your original statement about "a moneyed pile of Republicans" cannot be reconciled with the reality that it is the Democratic party that is far more beholden to special interests than the Republican party, and your subsequent laugh-emoticon at legitimate articles that draw attention to the disastrous economic consequences of Obama's socialistic policies.

There is no recovery. Obama has not done more damage because there is nothing to damage anymore. He is not accelerating the American decline he is managing it, trying to slow it down to a point where people don't recognize it as decline. This is the MO of modern governments. We are in a full blown crisis and economic collapse is inevitable.

yeah, because ridiculing the shyt that i linked is not laughworthy.

The Obama agents, through the DHS and other assorted colluders, are plotting a major ?Reichstag? event to generate racial riots and produce the justification for martial law, delaying the November 2012 elections, possibly indefinitely,a DHS whistleblower informed the Canada Free Press on Tuesday.

yup, outed mah self that ahm supportin' that nazi, commie, socialist, muslim, nigerian prince by questioning stupid shyt.

beware repubs! crackernacht approaches!!!

It's been an uneven recovery. Meaning that some people have recovered better than others. Therefore, relatively speaking, inequality of wealth and opportunities has probably gotten somewhat worse.

The debt and deficit have grown steadily under Obama.

So yea in some ways we are worse off now.
