The Resident Evil Movies

I've never watched any of the live action films based on the Resident Evil video games. For those of you who have seen them, how good are they? Based on the trailers I've seen of them, they seem like low budget films which are suited for straight-to-home-video releases, though they do seem like they can be enjoyable if you don't take them too seriously. What do you think?

I saw the trailer for the upcoming fifth installment. It looks like it would be enjoyable if it's not taken seriously. I think it would be fun to see the characters and various creatures from the games on the big screen. I might see it.

wan't much of a fan of the movies but the first has grown on me somewhat, maybe because the sequels are so bad they make the first one seem less sucky now, i guess

I wonder why the film creators chose to craete a brand new character to serve as the films' protagonist, instead of just using characters from the games. Seems like a dumb idea.

The effects in the trailers look sub-bar compared to your typical summer blockbusters.

Not every movie can have a 200 million budget to produce effects like in The Avengers and Battleship though.

Call me crazy but I quite like them. They don't hold up to the games in story or atmosphere but they are okay action movies that uses charecters from a great game series.

As long as you don't take them too seriously and you don't expect to see the games as movies you can get some enjoyment out of them.

This is a bit off topic, but GS is very glitchy today. Damn.

The first one wasn't too bad. The rest are quite bad films, bad dialogue, worse plot, and the acting sucks bawls.

All in all they have brought shame to one of, if not the best survival horror video game franchise of all time.

I've seen one, where she fights the Nemesis but the movie was boring. The story doesn't "grabs" a person to the seat like the games do. Oh and the movies aren't scary, not a bit.

they suck baaaad. i mean alright they add new characters. even though they add the old characters they are still out of character. i mean christ in afterlife was like a confused idiot with no personality he was like a male version of christian stewart. he couldn't punch over a boulder if he tried. i mean damn......id rather watch humancetipede
